If so, what caliber and how do you have it set up?

I have a stribog setup with an eotech xps and an a3 tactical brace.

I had a first gen 9mm a long time ago.

You can add rail sections for your light of choice.

It wouldn’t be a horrible choice with a RDS and white WML. Load some mags with 124gr HST and do it.

I'm interested in this thread. The CX 4 seems like a nice gun.

I think they're rare and hold their value.

I have one,  but it's not for HD.  Mine is in .45 ACP which is now discontinued, and uses even more discontinued 8045 mags.

They are fun, but not world class. Their best feature is reliability.

This pic represents opposite ends of the noise spectrum in my collection.  8 inch 7.62x39  vs 16 inch .45 ACP.

Here's mine in 9mm, Bushnell red dot, inexpensive LED flashlight from a gun show, Magpul AFG and I changed it from the PX4 20 round magazines it came with to the 92FS 30 round mags.

I have one in 9mm, Surefire X300 and green Holosun. Very compact, solid setup

I've used one, but only to repel Cylons who were attempting to board the Galactica.

For home defense I prefer the P90 because my neighborhood is infested with Goa'uld.

One of my family members does.

It's the 9mm version, with the Beretta 92 adapter to use 20 round Mec-Gar mags - loaded with 115gr Speer Lawman JHP.

A Trijicon MRO red dot runs 24/7 - always ready to go.

I like the easy, instinctive manual of arms - You aim it, and pull the trigger.

It's reasonably safe to store with a round chambered, thanks to the long, heavy trigger pull.

No need to use the safety.

My wife does.

Do you see the CX4 as a decent mob repeller?
Link Posted: 7/7/2020 11:43:21 PM EDT

^Yes - It's reliable, lightweight, compact, easy to aim quickly, foolproof to operate, and 30 round mags are available for it.

For targets on foot at riot-length distances, 9mm is plenty potent enough.

Mine has the Romeo 5, AFG 2, and the Sierra Papa trigger work.  After sending to them, got a call and my trigger group had the crack in it, and they had a replacement available.  Trigger is much better now.

I kinda want the AKV 9 thingy with a suppressor for hd.  The storm is a great little rig and kinda underrated.

Is $500 a good price for a CX4 Storm 9mm these days?

the CX4 is stupid accurate, doesn't misfeed, and has excellent ergonomics despite the outward appearance.
my 9mm flavor uses ubiquitous 92FS mags, which are available by the railcar under normal societal circumstances.

IF i didn't have a AR pattern carbine in 5.56 close by, and IF i didn't have a 1301 tactical w/00-buck close by, i would not hesitate to pick up the CX4 and put it to work.

that said, here is where i probably rile a few feathers: it is an excellent "long arm" for my wife.
it's compact enough for living room MOUT, it points easily, it has a rail for a light, the manual of operations is easy, and 124gr +P Gold Dots emitted from a long barrel provide reliable "hey stop that behavior" feedback to people and zombies alike.
what it doesn't have is 1) the stout kick of 12ga 00-buck, and 2) the "holy fuck" factor of shooting an unsuppressed 14.5" 5.56x45 indoors.

I think its biggest crime is it looks hideous which likely hurt sales. I'm not sure what ban state it would even be compliant in anymore.

Beretta should bring a semi auto PMX over.

My wife sleeps with one and 3 30 round mags. That and the machete helps keep the dreams about zombies at bay.

There are a lot more magazine options for the 92/96 version than the PX4, 8045 or 8000/8040 versions.

Theoretically, you can buy a magwell insert and magazine release to convert to 92/96, but availability is iffy. Right now, Beretta doesn't even show the 92/96 magwell insert on their website.
