Mine us my SAR-1!   :)

I own a R6600 preban HBAR, and have 6 years in the Army with a M-16.  So I'm not misinformed.

I love my AR but there were times in the service that it was deadlined on spot in hairy situations. (Panama and Gulf War is the places I've been)

What do you guys think about the 2 compared for the SHTF?

AR is deffinately second choice :)

good choice NSFJojo.

Along with my AK will be my Steyr SBS Prohunter in .308 with 6-18x50 Bushnell scope (best group is 5 shot .25" at 100 yrds), and my highly customized Colt 1991A1 full size pistol :)

Also my M-48 8mm Mauser will be with me :)

That is a very impressive grouping.  Wow.  I'm pretty firm in the belief that it's going to be the sniper rifle or the tiny concealed silent .22 that will help the most in a SHTF situation.  AR's will be good to scare off looters and the like, but when I talk about SHTF I'm talking anti-personnel type SHTF.

Taken 5 minutes ago, for your viewing pleasure...

It isn't much in the "portability" department, but it does the job in a seemingly gun-free town.
If I want portable weaponry, I stick one of those babies on my wall in my car.

And I thought I was ugly... [B)]
Get the girl to hold the weapons, that would be real neat.  Maybe dress her up to?  In some BDU's. Face Camo, web gear.  Then post the pics.

I'd have to consider my AR if it's going to be a long term thing based on the availability of ammo and compatability of parts with G.I. rifles. For the short term or if my Govt. was not inclined to supply me with ammo/parts I'd take my M-14SA I don't want to have to get too close.

Springfield M1A1 and Glock 30 for me,20" HBAR AR15 and HK USP compact(in .45acp) for the wife. Leftovers go to the stragglers. You know, the worthless assholes you know that say,"If anything bad ever happens,I'm goin to your house!" We are gonna own those people.

I don't know where Jewbroni comes up with the money for a professional model at short notice to toke his rifle.

Duffypoo, that LR-300 is sexay!

I'd go with the M4gery that I am going to build when I get out of California. Bushy lower, Bushy A3 upper with M4 16" barrel, M4 double heatshield handguards, Wilson Combat A2 look-alike brake, Bushy fixed M4 stock, Ergo-Grip. Maybe I will stick an ELCAN or ACOG on it.

If TSHTF before I get out I always have my SKS.

Don't have pics yet but I own an AR or two and a Bulgarian AK. I'd have to go with the AR for long range and the AK for close reliable fire or the 1911 for situations 50 yards and under.
