you can do one of two things

1: spray the inside with fabreze
2: get some baking soda in some old socks and put then in there overnight
3: if they are sneakers - wash them

BUT 'fuchi patas' (apache for smelly feet) could mean the shoes do not breathe enough. do you wear these with cotton socks? or there might be an imbalance with your diet - do you eat alot of meats?

Fill up a sock with baking soda or foot powder(something that will absorb odor). Put the sock in your shoes when you are not wearing them. It will suck the smell right out. And wash them.

If you don't wear socks in your shoes they're going to stink..period. That being said, put some baby powder or Gold Bond in your shoes (light dusting) each time you wear them.. cuts down on your feet sweating which is what causes the offending odor.

I wear steel toed boots 12 hours a day at work and my boots often get wet. Every day after work the boots go on a PEET Shoe Dryer. I dry my walking around shoes while I wear the boots. This really helps me.

water + boat shoes + no socks = smelly shoes.

Throw them in the washer with a little soap and liquid bleach. The bleach my take some of the color away, but it'll kill the little critters living in there. I assume they are canvas boat shoes.

Baking soda works wonders...

Make sure your shoes breathe well. Do your feet feel wet while you are wearing them? Do your feet feel clammy when you take the shoes off?

Avoid synthetics - they do not breathe well. That applies to synthetic fibers AND synthetic leather! I only buy shoes in cotton canvas or REAL, GENUINE leather. Even real leather breathes better than most synthetics - the only exception I can really think of is the woven Cordura Nylon used on work or field boots.

After you wash and dry your shoes, take some fairly new, clean socks and get LOTS of baking soda in them. Put the socks loosely into the shoes and put them back in the dryer on "air dry" or "fluff" - no heat!

With all the joking aside, probably the best solution to your problem would be to buy shoe stuffers filled with cedar wood. The cedar wood has a pine-type of fragrance. They only cost about $10.00 to $14.00 at a retail store. Buy new shoes and stuff them every night from the beginning with the cedar wood stuffers and that should help control the odor by the morning.

They may still work with well-worn shoes if they are not too dirty. What is also great about these shoe stuffers beside being cheap, is they last a long time like over two to three years with daily use.

my feet used to smell like a horses ass, now I just use an odor eaters insole, and baby powder, much better!

its pretty bad when your girlfriend is on the other side of the house and knows you took your shoes off.

1. Place shoes on fence post.
2. Back Up very Carefully till you are 100 yards away.
3. Look at your shoes very carefully.
4. Check the wind direction.
5. Remove AR-15 from Case and fire until shoes are rittled with holes.
6. No more smell.

Kayaking stores, and probably diving supply stores and surf shops too, have a product called "Sink the Stink", developed for wetsuits. Buy some and either soak or wash your shoes with it (assuming they're washable shoes).

You think your shoes get bad, wetsuits are horrible. And they can't be thrown in a washer.

Odd how leather dress shoes never seem to get odiferous, while the newer athletic shoes are so tight and "breathe" so little that they begin to reek within weeks. [puke] I think it's a conspiracy by Nike, Reebok, and the others to sell more shoes.

They make this stuff called "soap" that, when applied regularly to your feet in conjunction with water, will alleviate foot odor.

Seriously, has anyone here ever tried boric acid? A friend in college had the WORST smelling shoes - we were ready to throw him out of the dorm. He had tried everything including baking soda, foot powder, inserts, etc., but the stench wouldn't go away. It would almost make you puke! He tried boric acid (powder) in his shoes at the "request" of his chem prof, and like magic, the air cleared. I think it's available at any grocery store.

The smell is caused by bacteria! Wash your feet regularly with soap and air them when you can. Keep them dry. Bacteria cant grow when its dry. Shoe liners with CHARCOAL will help as well as some of the powders. Your diet can effect your smell as well. I had a veggie buddy and boy did he stink. Rotate your shoes so they have a chance to dry out.
