I recently purchased a gun that could possibly have an intersting history. I'm wondering if there is anyway for me to learn the history of a gun that I own.  Such as who originally bought it, when they bought, who bought it after that...ect.

I sure hope not.

What you are talking about is total gun registry, with an airtight data base.

If it is an old one, you can try tracking it yourself.  Colt and Winchester, I think, can tell you when it was made and to what shop it was sent to.  Other companies might as well.
