I remember something about 2 years ago while I was in the Army, about the NRA being considered a "radical group".  We had to do the yearly "Consideration Of Others Training (COOT)" which included a brief on radical groups.  Is the NRA considered one, was it ever?

Don't rip me as a NRA trasher, my question deals with it's classification and whether anybody was confronted with the issue during their "monthly" counseling.

Under the pre-y2k Project Meggiddo, everyone that either owned guns or believed in the Constitution and Bill of Rights was considered to be a possible terrorist by the feds.  Makes you wonder if THEY even believe in the Consitution and Bill of Rights anymore.

NO.

The NRA doesn't support overthrowing the Federal government.

COOT!  What kind of dumbass training is that!  Don't tell me an active duty Army member was putting out that kind of crap.

I don't think that the NRA is classified as a terrorist or radical group.  These freaks that want to turn our country into 1939 Germany need to be recognized as a radical group though.  They want to take our rights, slowly but surely, which is what has happened in countries that the US has gone to war with over many of the same issues.  Ridiculous.

From AR 600-20, Army Command Policy:

"Extremist organizations and activities are ones that advocate racial, gender or ethnic hatred or intolerance; advocate, create, or engage in illegal discrimination based on race, color, gender, religion, or national origin or advocate the use of or use force or violence or unlawful means to deprive individuals of their rights under the United States Constitution or the laws of the United States, or any State, by unlawful means."

HCI should be classified as a radical group interested with the violent overthrow of the government.
