I am looking at buying the Springfield Armory M1A Scout Squad Model with the black stock.  It has the Second Gen 4-14 scope mounted on it with the built in .308 drop range compensator.  Any comments good or bad?

I prefer the M1A system. It has to be GOOD.

I've never fired one, but they handle beautifully. Very pointable.
If you want the scout rifle, why are you mounting a long range type scope? These are built for the forward mounted Long Eye Relief scopes, thus the name, scout rifle.
I guess if you cant but two seperate rifles, you can make due with the scout for long range work, but you'll sacrifice some muzzle velocity, and long range accuracy.
How much they going for? The one I saw was $1275. I'm jealous. Nice rifle.
