Its gut rot to start with.
Whiskey stops aging after it is taken out of the barrel. Since it was stored out of direct sunlight it should be ok to drink, b ut I would leave it as a conversation piece. |

I have a 1971 bottle of Seagram's V.O. sitting in my safe. I'm sure it's still good, but, I don't think I'll ever drink it. I'm a Vodka guy. Besides, it makes a good conversation piece.

I found an unopened bottle of 100 Pipers scotch in my basement. I don't have a clue how old it is, but from the looks of the label and the packing it was in, it was late 60's or early 70's vintage.
I too am not quite sure what to do with it. |

Good news is it was packed with a few bottles of Stoli,Smirnoff,Segrams 7,Dewars,Tequila,and a couple of bottles each of merlot and chardonnay so I ought to be able to kill this cold one way or the other. I was looking for some turkey as that will usually do the trick during cold and flu season. Have to make do with what I have on hand. Thanks guys! |

I understanding is that these distilled liquors have an unlimited shelf life. My take on this open it and drink it, and let us know what you tomorrow.

In 1994, I drank a bottle of Crown Royal with a friend of mine. The bottle was given to him as a wedding gift in 1958. It tasted exactly the same as any new bottle of Crown.

My situation, is about the same as Offctr's I've got an unopened bottle of Black&White scotch that is over 20 years old. Don't have any idea about the quality of this brand at all, but it was free. Like some one else posted, booze don't spoil. Don in Ohio |
