I bought a hand picked SAR-1 from george mason on gun broker for $315 shipped and transfered. So I would say you payed a little to much.

Hell, no! I've seen one for somtehing like $299 or so, here in Federal Way's discount gun (Washington State). Guns should be cheaper in Texas, not more expensive!

Yeah, what is with the used look? I have the same model and they look pretty rough on the outside. Inside looked flawless and it shoots fine so I guess it was new. Never could get the cleaning kit apart, still sitting in the stock in plastic wrap. Paid $300 for mine with a couple of 30 round mags.

1. SARS [b]dealer price[/b] from CAI for $299.99, dealers (gasp) actually try and sell them for a profit. [:O] $495.00 is the 'suggested retail' but that'll never fucking happen.
2. SARS look beat to shit NITCBDB (New In Their Crappy Broken Dirty Box). Most dealers won't even sell these things because most customers balk at any markup (though $499 is pretty optomistic [:D]) and they aren't worth the inventory. |

I din't buy the AK. It did seem too high. I couldn't belive it. Anyway I'm going to be looking in Pawn Shops, maybe I'll have better luck. |

Keep in mind that imported barrels can no longer be used to build new parts guns, so the cost of "parts kit" AKs has gone up as barrels have had to be made domestically. The SARs still use imported barrels, but there aren't many left, and as they are depleted, the prices go up. It's called "supply and demand."
