Black powder guns and rifled shotgun barrels included? But those are things hunters use, and they would never take guns from hunters![;D]

It is incase the terrorists decide to attack all the baby deer on the Parkway, Expressway and turnpike.

What a relief, now we dont have to worry about any satellites being shot down over New Jerkey.

Shouldn't make a difference anyway, they will burn up on reentry.

So Can a guy in NJ go to PA or whatever and buy a .50 and bring it back?

Sure if he wanted the BATFES crawling up his ass with a flash light because he purchased a gun out of state.  That is if the shop even lets him.

I guess he could do a p2p sale.

I don't see  how they figure to make NJ safer.  I mean, hey, a guy could buy one of these .50 caliber WMDs in Virginia and shoot down the satelites over NJ from there couldn't he?  [rolleyes]

Bump.

This sucks. No .50 ban has passed yet but IL, CT, NY and CA have tried.

It's perfectly legal for someone from NJ to buy a longarm from a dealer in PA.

It's a violation of federal law to buy any gun out of your own state without a dealer involved.

Feel free to whine, but at least get your facts straight.

I think they are excluding shotguns.  Not defending our idiot legislators.

Following cut from:  http://www.njleg.state.nj.us/2002/Bills/A3500/3942_R1.HTM

c.    "Destructive device" means any device, instrument or object designed to explode or produce uncontrolled combustion, including
(cut # 1,2,&4)
(3) any weapon capable of firing a projectile of a caliber of 50 caliber or greater [than 60 caliber] 1 or, in the case of an antique firearm or antique handgun, of a caliber greater than 60 caliber1, except a shotgun or shotgun ammunition generally recognized as suitable for sporting purposes;

OK, so "Cannot be passed or sold in NJ".  Does that mean that if you do have one of these evil WMD's and you die, the gubmint automatically gets it because it can't be "passed" in the will?

That was everyone's reason for voting for democrats, waiting periods, AWB's and not joining the NRA. They will only take that evil looking gun away from someone else.

I would be in favor of PA invading and annexing NJ, ousting the State gov't and then nuking Camden and Newark.  Would stop a lot more crime than the Democrats idiotic legislation.

Uh no.  He could pay for it in pa but then it would have to be shipped to a NJ ffl which would then be against the law.  Or he could pay for it in NJ and walk out of the shop and get the free colonoscopy from the BAFTES.

See heres the important part:
Any current of hte above are grandfathered, but cannot be passed or sold in NJ.

Basically none can be transferred after this goes into effect.  So your only means to get one not grandfathered would be a p2p but thats even pushing it.

Maybe you should get your facts straight.

Actually you said the BATF would come after him for buying the gun out of state. That is not a crime. Whether he can take it back to NJ with him is a separate issue.

Well technically he cant actually "buy" a gun out of state.  Its not yours until you take possession which happens at your local ffl after the transfer, but I wont argue symantics.

OK The source of this information is Carol, She is a lobbyist for two gun groups and is in Trenton. She has been on TV a couple of times.

As for shotguns with rifled barrels..they will be banned.

As for buying a rifle in PA, there are some PA dealers that have the license to sell to NJ residents, but they will not be able to sell you anything that is banned in NJ.

Even if you do not live in Jersey, if it passes here it gets used to hype propaganda in other states.

Also we have two of the most liberal, worthless US Senators here, Lautenberg and Corazine...you know they will bringthis to DC.

We can all joke about it, I would love too, but if we don't get serious and stop them, then it will get worse for all of us.

Edited to add I am not sure of the the status of any rifles owned now, as i read it it only gives you time to dispose of them.

Handguns need to be bought in your state of residence, but I can buy long guns out of state. Last year I bought an 1894C in Delaware, took possession, and brought it home to PA. The transaction was perfectly legal. What is different about NJ?

its a good thing they are getting of those weapons.  I always felt like i was going to get popped by a muzzle loader when i drove through New Jersey.  Now i can even fly into New Jersey airports without fear of my plane getting taken down by those UBER HUGE .50 BMG's!  http://www.vpc.org/airsafety.htm

I feel safer already!!!!!!1

Perfect.  Now they just need to call it the Barrett M83 to get around the CT Assault Weapons ban which names the M82.
