Does anyone here use the S.I.R. mount? Does anyone know of a spec-ops unit that uses these  or maybe a law enforcement agency or are they just a high fangled gadget? Please reply

I used to have one.  To me, it was overly complicated, and had a few design flaws.  For one, it used brass screw inserts, and these are notoriously easy to strip.

The only rail system I have remaining is Knight's RIS (not RAS), and I like it very well.  Simple and functional.
