I just got back from lunch with one of my office buds. I had Thai food with a drink that came out to ten bucks including tip. It then dawned on us that if we spent on an average of, say, eight dollars a lunch, that would come out to 2k a year which doesn't include my two weeks vacation. Damn, that's an M1A plus a mount and a nice scope!!!!!

I only eat out once a week as a treat, I make my own Thai lunches.

I spend an average of $8.00 a week on restaurant lunches.

20-25 dollars per week.

i usually spend about $80 a week on lunch and dinner

4 martinis @ $5.50 each works out to $22 plus tip.

I buy my lunch 4 days a week.  I usually get a BRC Buritto and a glass of water at El Pollo Loco.  Cost less than $1.00.

i work for the DOD on oahu and that allows my family and i to eat at the galleys . breakfast is $1.25 and lunch and dinner is $3.25 ea.

I eat lunch out maybe once a month.  I pack it every day, both for the calorie counting as well as to save money for my rifle/pistol addiction.

When I was fat and eating out 5 times a week, I easily spent 60 a week on food at lunch time...

I pay nothing. I work in the food industry, and if me and the boss want to eat-out, we can usually trade our product for theirs.
We usually trade for Deli food, Pizza, Chinese, Burgers, and Mexican.
It's great, we save $$$ by trading, and so do the other eating establishments.

Cost is not the only issue here. When you eat out, you have zero control of the fat & sodium content. I was on a 6 months gig for a client in Dallas, Tex, gained 10lbs just by eating out, and the cholesterol went up by 20 points. Whenever possible avoid resturant food, they're a killer on both you and your wallet.

$5 per meal about days of the week.  I eat at home more often than I used to.  never eat out for dinner.

Usually 3.60 for the lunch at the work caf and maybe 13 for japanese once a week.

0.  Bag lunch every day.  Drink water, no coffee or coke.

but usually $18.00 for lunch across from City Hall oh and $22.00 to park in downtown for a couple of hours.

Brown bag it as much as I can.  Peanut butter sandwiches.  Quick to make and cheap too.  Save you $ for guns & bullets.

I hardly ever eat out for lunch. When we cook supper we cook enough to have leftovers. I fix a plate for lunch the next day.

Just the cost of a soft drink(.50). I have 3 compartment microwaveable containers that I fix leftovers from supper in and take it in for lunch several days later. Microwaves and coffee pots were all over the place in the shipyard that I worked in.

When I went from $7 a day in coffee to $2 a day my wallet sure noticed it at the end of every pay cycle when I had a few bucks left instead of being a few short.

I don't know why, but  have the Devils luck when it comes to lunches.

Generally, I eat at home when I'm off work, but when I'm not at home around noontime, over 1/2 the time, I somehow land in the gravy. Some sort of deal or freebie lands on my lap.

I swear, I could drive past an abandoned lumber yard in a January blizzard and they'd be having an anniversary free barbecue or something.

Just last time home, I managed 3 free lunches. at a supermarket when a 'sample lady' made me a Chinese plate just to get rid of the stuff(I think she wanted to run out of the stuff so she could go home early) I also got a freebie at an auto parts place when I walked in for parts.(A couple hot dogs, chips, a coke and cole slaw)
The third was in a restaurant. The waitress came by when I tried to pay and told me that the guy at the next table paid for my lunch because I made him laugh and he was having a bad day!

Oh, yeah, it was 4. When i went into the place were Mrs Pic bought her Elantra, the guy that sold it to her recognized me and gave me a couple slices of leftover pizza the sales guys had bought a few minutes earlier. Had to buy my own coke, though.  

funny you ask this question. I just reviewed my food expense for the year and it 5876.25, but that includes taking the family out once a week (at least)

I average about 10.00 a day for myself. I can remember just a few years back I could feed both me and my biz partner for under 4.00
