I'm "tarred" of paying someone ten bux a pop to give me a simple brush cut.

Is there some device out there that my wife can  give me a haircut with??

Remember the Flowbee???

My brother bought one of those when we were in high school.  Useless.

Just buy some electric clippers and give yourself a buzzcut.

My father was a barber.  His father was a
barber. ...  My dad always used the WAHL
brand, for both the small trimming clippers
(cordless) and the large (AC) clippers.

We bought our first of each, I dunno, 15
years ago.  My wife has been doing my hair
(what is left of it) and my sons.  No
problems.  Just attach the comb for the
length you want your hair - foolproof.  I
use 1/2" for the head, and 1/4" for the
beard.  Piece of cake.

I've just cut my own hair for years.  The bald spot makes it easier - as the hardest part to get to or make even is no longer an issue.  Lately, I've just been cutting it all off though - makes it a heckuva lot easier.

I haven't paid for it in years; that's what a wife is for, right?

Haircuts, that is.

Nothing but Flowbee in the last eight years, saved a ton of money.  I used to get compliments, until the bald spot got in the way.

The wife bought one of those Wahl kits a couple of years ago and I haven't seen a barber since.

Here it is.

That lunch with the "jews" must have had a much larger effect than we thought.

You only pay $10?

I pay $25 plus tip in a small town, but I get a very professional cut that I really like.

Yes, once I did try the "cheap way out" but I got what I payed for - a geek haircut....  Never again.

Professional hair stylists are well worth the price - if you want to look good....

Wife's been cutting mine for over 15 years, Does a much better job than what I was paying for. She messed it up a couple of times in the beginning but its not like I work at a bank anymore or someplace like that.

Noo, but I bet he's wan o thim wee canny Carolina Scots what is loathe to part with a ha'penny more then necessary for the necessities of life.

Although $10 is a great price for a good cut.

Have the wife do it with a good clipper.  Expect some larning experiences.  Waatch how your barber evens out the longer stuff with his fingers.

Good Luck.

I use the double mirror (for the back, as that's the only place I really have any significant hair anymore[:(]) and I haven't bought one of the Wahl trimmers yet, but probably will, as this will make it look better.  I just use scissors and the back trimmer part of my electric shaver.  Does a decent job, as good as they do at a barber anyway.

I only have to stay home for a couple weeks without going out in public before the bad cuts fill in nicely, and I'm not embarassed to be seen![:D]

Flowbee for over a decade.  You will still need some Wahl clippers if you want good lines on the back/sides.  The Flowbee makes cleanup a snap.

My mom got one of those to cut my dads hair.

She forgot to put the comm on one time until after the first pass - - - - down the center.

He ended up just shaving the rest off and let it grow back out.

now he gets cut at a barbers again.

I got the same sort of setup MattJa has, only mine's a Remington, for $13 at WalMart last Sept. I would prefer a comb that left more than a ½" cut. But I'll live with it. I got tired of $15 hair cuts every where I went. Even the old fashion barber shops.
