Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Computer problem

Can anyone help?
About 1/3 of the times I turn on my laptop the computer runs but the screen does not display anything only a blank screen. Turning it off then on corrects this.
Twice it has blanked while in use.
Advice?

Do you see the startup graphics-?- the Windows xp/me/98 etc. screen??
What is the last screen it shows you??

What operating system???
New or older computer?

Start by making sure that your screen saver is turned off.  Next check power settings and make sure that the screen power off is disabled.

This will make sure that it's not Windows that is causing the problem.

If the problem persists then it sounds like a hardware issue of some sort.
