Good movie.
But how did Bond survive the original assassination?  He wasn't wearing body armor.  The bed didn't provide cover.  The rounds fired drew blood.
How did he survive?

I thought the assassination was faked so that Bond could more easily investigate where the spaceship was coming from.  Been a while since I seen it though. I didnt care for the movie much myself.

His assassination was staged so the people who hired the Chinese woman (probably SPECTRE) would think he's dead and stop trying to hunt oand kill Bond.
