They must be low profile and work in the cold.

I have a set of Dillon HP1s. They SUCK for cold weather use. The earcups are some sort of cheap vinyl that is stiff and cracks in the cold. They also have some sort of white noise/static that only occurs in cold weather use.

Anyway, I don't know who makes them for Dillon and I don't want to make the same mistake twice.

Peltor makes the Dillon ear protection. A lot of people swear by their Peltors.

I own a pair made by Pro Ears. The ear cushions are vinyl as well.

Well, they work just fine in warm weather. The only problem is that I don't live in a climate that is warm all year round.

I sent them back to Dillon and they replaced them once, but the new ones do the same thing.

The other bad thing is Dillon only give a 1 year warranty on products they don't make.

I guess I need to hear from folks who live and shoot out in cold climes.

Best muffs I've ever used, bar-none.

FWIW, I got mine at Botach for about $210.  They were in stock and shipped on the same day.

Thought we were talking hearing protection.  I prefer the active muffs, and combine them with std ear plugs for max protection and better hearing in low noise range talk.   [coffee]
