AK Mike, I agree that all drugs can be bad, but I left out an important detail. The designer drug was a powerful hallucegen (spelling?). In the case of booze, most people will have lower inhibitions and do some real stupid crap. Of course usually they can be smart about it and tell themselves to maintain. In [Stoners] case since he was on a hallucegen, his whole perception was warped and it harder to control yourself when you possibly think cops are giant brains chasing you through medival england. Not even he can remember what he saw in his warped vision of reality. So don't attack coffee, smokes and booze here.

Mmanwitgun, I understand. In this case, his mistake was taking something that he was not prepared to handle, in a place that was not appropriate. If one is going to take a hallucinegen, it should be mild enough, and taken in a place of safety where one cannot hurt themselves or others. PUBLIC PLACES AND ROADS are NO place to take these things. I am not attacking coffee, smokes, and booze per se, I am just saying they are ALL drugs, and that's a fact. As I said, if you know your limits and can take them responsibly, I don't see a problem. If you go overboard with ANY drug, you are going to have problems. I know many people who can take hard drugs and not have any problems, they are even productive citizens, but I know normal people who can't take even small amounts of alcohol without having problems. Your post said not to take drugs, but you didn't say which drugs so that is an attack against them all, including alcohol, one of the most destructive drugs people use everyday. Those that know their limits and take it properly don't have a problem, those that don't can end up hurt or dead as well as others. I'm just saying one needs to keep a proper perspective. Anyone taking an unfamiliar drug or quantity, not knowing the extent of the effect, is asking for trouble, just as what happened to your friend. Another person taking a more reasonable dose, familiar with the effects, in an environment that would not get him or others hurt - may not have had such a disasterous outcome. I am sure many people take whatever he took and did not go out onto the roads or go wailing on cops, and such a drug is taken by many, many people, every day of the year. I am not condoning drugs, I am just saying that if one does, one must do so responsibly as for any drug, whether it be crack, alcohol, prescription, or what have you.
