Does this make me a bad guy? I have always hated the thought of these being the weapons that kill our soldiers. Communist crap to me made by slaves.

Flame Away Men! I know they function, but are still commie guns. By the way I will pay more for an American made gun/product any day.

I never liked them until I recently bought a pre-ban Norinco off a guy at work.

AKs are as bad as ARs...  you just can't have one.

Variety is the spice of life, they say.

I tried to buy one. However I was used to the precision, well-built feel of the ARs and couldn't get over the rattling feel of the AK. Instead I left with another AR.

I shot one once, just couldn't get that thought out of my head.
It would definately be good to have one behind enemy lines.
I seen somewhere that our troops liked them for close in work but accurate far off work the AR is the one to go with.

I got nothing against the SAR series, but I dont get the more expensive AK's.

Everyone should have a SAR.

I have a SAR1, but I dont have any "drive" to purchase any other AK's. Once you got one, your done.

AR's on the other hand...

YMMV

I find it difficult to be mad at an inanimate object.  I've never seen one just jump off a table, load itself and kill any soldiers under it's own power.  As with any weapon, ideology and party affiliation ends where the finger meets the trigger.  It's a lump of steel and wood that's only dangerous in the hands of those who wish to harm our troops.  Like any soviet-era invention, it's designed to be mass produced, simple to service, and take a beating.  While not a specification, it probably makes a good makeshift oar, a shovel, or a club in between ammo purchases.

Sometimes you need an extremely reliable, virtually indestructible,  totally inaccurate weapon.

Kalashnikov is a simple soldier who built a simple rifle that has stood the test of time. It is a shame he does not hold the patent to it. From what I understand, he has not benefited financially from his creation. The man should be a multi-millionaire by this time.

For that matter, I don't believe John Garand holds a patent on his M1 either, as he was a federal employee during the time he developed his rifle. It was just part of his job.

As far as my SAR-1 goes, I shoot it way more than my Bushmaster. As for accuracy, I have no problem knocking down man-size targets out to 300 yards.

Crap, not more of this "Ak is commie" stuff.

Well, I wish I had a dollar for every deer that has been taken with an SKS (I'm not the only one who lives somewhere that a SKS serves as a redneck deer rifle am I?).

And that's a commie gun as well right?

Don't know, either way I still like having AK's in my collection.

Why?

Because I like collecting guns.

And especially military guns.

I prefer my AR15's. But AK's are fun to shoot as well.

No reason not to own both!

BTW, have you tried the 5.45 AK74?

MUCH more accurate then the 7.62X39 AK's. And more fun too shoot.

Glad to see I'm not the only one that likes the 5.45x39.5 cartridge. I love mine. It's also worth noting that part of the weakness in the AK accuracy is the open sights. I put a Kobra on one of my SAR2s and it's shooting about 2" at 100 yards. With the 3.5x20 scope, it's near MOA. Debating getting a Red Star Arms trigger group for it. None of my ARs has seen the light of days in months with my new addiction to the SAR2 and the 5.45 round. Now if only there were some higher quality ammo available.

I was kinda hoping we could go thru a few more iterations, but it would have ended up as you say. I worked on the D-5 warhead bus and got briefed on the damage estimates as part of another project. Bottom line, don't send the launch command unless you mean it. Definitely the ultimate weapons platform that the human race has devised so far.

I'd say the M16 Kalishnakov is holding would jam, and Eugene would be baffled how you're possibly supposed to load that AK.
Since both of them have still their original bayonet which are not for the guns they're holding, it would come down to whoever swing or buttstroke the other harder...

Edited to add: it seems like gene has the size advantage, however the AK is much lighter than that 20" M16 kali has, therefore it will have less momentum than the AR. The result of that being that gene is required to perhaps use mulitiple hits against kali, whereas he could take out stoner in one well-placed hit. (he'd probably need a stool for that)

P.S. Thats a really amazing picutre...so saved!
