I think that would be fun, have a real short barrel on the thing like 10-12" and with .45 super it would still have alot of power.

I was looking at the velocity numbers of a camp carbine in .45super and some of the loads were around 800-900 Ftlbs.

I wonder if it could be done?

IIRC...

oly arms .45 upers will handle the .45 super.

don't quote me on that...but somewhere along the line i recall hearing that. YMMV

The new Cav Arms Mark II lowers are wide enough to take grease gun mags. Otherwise in a standard lower you are limited to 16 round Uzi mags.

I've used 185, 200 and 230 gr. 45 Super in my 11.5" bbl Oly upper. No problems.

Take a look at a "normal" Oly Arms 45 ACP upper and there, you have the 45 Super [:D].

I recall the 45 Super question some time ago too.  I think that someone stayed that Oly suggested a stronger recoil spring and/or heavier buffer when using 45 Super, but don't quote me on that.

Yes, they are wide enough.  But, the Oly mag position for the pistol cal has the mags ALL the way FORWARD.  The Cav 15 MKII has a wider section in the middle (so the 223 mags will still work).

I suppose some kind of filler block for the front would be installed, a hybrid block system.  I have seen a 10mm Oly system being fed with a Colt system block.  The feed ramp was heavily modified and the ejector in the block removed (using factory Oly ejector).  But since GG mags are wider, one would be going back to a 2 peice mag block, like the original Colt style.

Can't say I own those...linked in a pic from a site (as someone wanted to see some).

IIRC, Oly Arms says they are using Uzi mags for the 10mm, 40 and 45 uppers.  But due to the limited supply of 45 Uzi mags and such, they went to 10round mags..... I thought I read that somewhere....

I'm a pic whore...all I  need is an  excuse.
Here she is with coll. stock and a scout scope.
It now wears a A1 stock. This carbine has eaten 5 boxes of 45 Super so far.
The 45 Super does recoil a little sharper, and gets feedback from the 50yd steel ALOT faster than 230gr ball. I see no ill-effects from shooting it.
The mags I have are all Oly factory modded 20rd UZI mags. GG&G Polished the feed ramp and it feeds like a champ, even with HP ammo.
