I'm working the night shift Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Years Eve, and New Years...

Christmas eve will be fun, lot's of loud parties & such. Christmas day will suck, lots of people that cant stand each other getting togather for the holidays, drinking alcohol, then trying to kill eachother. The DV calls will start about 4PM and go all night.  New Years Eve will be lots of loud parties, bar fights, and drunk drivers crashing into eachother.  New Years day will be dead really slow.  It will take me 6 weeks to remember to start writing 2004 on my paperwork...

I'm the Squadron Duty Officer for Christmas Day.

I volunteered for it because my wife is working.  She is a nurse and for some reason sick people don't take Christmas off.

I switched shifts with a woman who works for me, as she has kids and I do not.  Zeny and I will have our Christmas later that evening, and I get New Years Eve and Day off.

First time in 10 years.  I LOVE IT!!!!

Working 12-23, 12-24 and 12-25 night shift.  Then working day shift 12-31 and 1-1.  Somebody's gotta make the electricity!!!  Can't complain, though, at double time and a half, it winds up being a pretty good paycheck, just for the holidays, not to mention the regular time for the non-holidays that I'm working.  Plus I get to take 2 extra days off with pay for working the holidays!!!

Work the 24th, 25th 26th, 27th, 4pm to 2 am,  days off, then work the 31st on.

I'm SO looking forward to New Years Eve. Reality television has NOTHING on the local crowd, the entertainment value is all worth it.  Any of you going to 6th st, I'll be working the  barricades at 6th and San Jacinto.  (Unless I get the first arrest of the New Year[:D])  Stop by and say hi!
