From the local news nuts (KYW, 12/21/03)...

*****
(City of Philadelphia) Managing director Phil Goldsmith says normal "Code Orange" protocols are in place in the city, but there's no indication the region is threatened:

"We have no evidence that's been communicated to us or received that there's any threats against Philadelphia or this region. We are being prudent, we are making sure that we're in communication among each other and other agencies."

Goldsmith says despite the precautions, go out and shop!

"These are normal things that we're doing when we get an orange alert, and we have no evidence of any threats. We believe people should go out and do their Christmas shopping -- boost the economy so we get more tax revenues into the city of Philadelphia!"

I don't know whether to scream, cry, or laugh.  "People should...do their Christmas shopping...so we get more tax revenues."  Do I have this right?

Maybe I'll just go shooting....
