This is a link to my units homepage. It has a short sitrep of what my Bn has been doing over there. On the left there is a link for some pics of my guys.
Click Here. Now that I have your attention, if anyone is looking to send CARE packages, here are a couple names. All are soldiers in my platoon. As I am no longer over there with them, they are no doubt starved for entertainment
so I'm sure any package or letter will be appreciated. I've included hobbies in case anyone wanted to send magazines (to read).
SGT Michael Gable
After completing culinary school and graduating from Cordon Bleu in France, this guy gave up a promising career as a chef in Lousiana for the Army "so I can kill people". This guy is one of my closer friends in the unit. Kind of weird (It took me a long time to convince him that he could not bring a Taliban head with him from Afghanistan, so he shouldn't even try it.) but one of the best people I've ever met. Did I mention he carries a bone saw around in his IBA "just in case"? His hobbie is firearms, but he puts his cooking skill to good work over there. After boycotting MREs in OEF, I would have starved if not for his ability to turn just about anything into an awesome meal.
SPC Jonathan Parisan
From Pottsville, PA. He fought in Afghanistan and redeployed to Iraq after less than 6 months back home. He is one of the best TOW/MK19 gunners I've ever seen. Likes bodybuilding stuff.
SPC Michael Quijada
I think he's a SPC now anyway. This guy is responsible for the majority of the battalions kills thus far. He smoked a vehicle full of Iraqis who were trying to ram through their checkpoint with his .50 cal and shotgun. From Los Angeles, he is into all that rice racer shit so send him "Super Street" or something.
I'd reccomend stuff like jerky, magazines (yes, they can have porn there), books, canned goods, batteries, babywipes, etc. Even just a letter will mean a lot to these guys.
In a heavy weapons company, these guys are ALWAYS in the shit. Thanks ahead of time. Oh, and make sure you mention ARFCOM. Maybe they'll come back, join up and post some pics for us.
