Got this email this morning:

Dear RetiredNavy,

Last week Howard Dean held a $250 per person fund-raiser
where pro-Dean speakers went onstage and proceeded to deliver
some of the most racist, vulgar "jokes" one could hear.

And what did Howard Dean do while this went on? He sat
backstage and did nothing. He said later that "some of
the language was wrong and "I just don't have much tolerance
for ethnic humor." But he didn't talk at all about the
lewd and racist anti-Bush administration attacks.

I'm sorry, that's just not good enough. That's why he needs
to apologize. Or he needs to  get out of  the race for president.

Like they usually do with stories that hurt Democrats, the media
has largely buried this story. Dean's basically gotten a free pass
on this one. Well, no, not this time. Dean needs to know
that being a Democrat doesn't entitle you to act like a racist,
sexist, vulgarian.

Let me give you a few highlights of what happened at this
fundraiser. He was silent while the comics that he had
invited to speak:

* Referred to President Bush as "this piece of living,
breathing s---" and Janeane Garofalo attacked the Medicare
prescription-drug bill that Bush had just signed as the "you
can go f--- yourself, Grandma" bill.

* Used the N-word for blacks in a "joke" that was about how
it's supposedly fine for a pro-Dean comic to use racial
slurs as long as the aim is to call Republicans racist.

* Compared the President's National Security Advisor to
Michael Jackson (who's facing child-sex-abuse charges) and
said: "Frankly, I'm far more frightened of Condoleezza
Rice." The only thing the Bush national security adviser has
in common with Jackson is that she's black. And
another Dean comic used a "Yes Massa" accent in reference
to Rice.

*Called Dick Cheney's wife Lynne "Lon Chaney" -
the old movie star who often played ghouls in horror films.
And Cheney's daughter Mary, who is gay, was described as "a
big lezzie."

*Joked about how it's unusual to see an Asian baby with
Asian parents because so many Asian babies are adopted by
whites.

And all the while, Howard Dean sat listening and did
nothing. By the way, this is the same man who criticized  
Trent Lott for his remarks about Strom Thurmond's run
for President.

This man thinks he should be the nominee of one of our
two major political parties. He wants to be the President
of the United States. And he doesn't even have the
conviction to put a stop to racism, sexism and vulgarity
at his own fundraiser.

Howard Dean owes President Bush and the American people an apology.
If he doesn't have the courage to stand up to his own party
at his own fundraiser, then he certainly doesn't have the
courage to be President.

Dean needs to know that racism isn't OK, even if you're a Democrat.

So please join me and demand that Dean  either apologize
for what happened, or drop out of the race for President.

Um...folks?

Dean is the guy that Karl Rove wants GWB to run against. Let's be quiet and don't do anything to interfere with Dean's nomination. Let's just let him sail into oblivion while we wave from the shoreline.

When he goes down in flames in 2004, then we can gloat.

What is WRONG with you guys?

Look, Kerry, or Hillary, or even Lieberman "could" represent a challenge to Bush in  2004.

Dean is a sacrificial goat.  LET HIM WIN THE NOMINATION ALREADY.

After that I will be happy to discredit him.  But jeez, get a clue.  We (those who favor the GOP) WANT a Dean nomination.
