I recently traded for a Colt Sporter Target Model. Having checked the serial # I know it is a pre-ban. This is the only information I know about this colt. The colt has a fixed carry handle, at the end of the barrel it is stamped C MP 5.56 NATO 1/7. The serial # starts with ST 01**** What if anything can anyone tell me about this Colt. Year made? or any other pertinent information. I ordered a collapsable stock and looking for ideas to dress it up. Thanks

Standard Preban 20" rifle. No bayonet lug, A2 compensator. Should have an M16A2 profile Brl.

You should remove the front pivot screws and see if the hole is oversized or if its milspec and drilled for a pivot pin & Detent. Colt made them both ways.
