Circuit City has a Toshiba A15S129 (2.4 gig Celeron, 256 mb ram, 40 gig hard drive, DVD-CDrw drive, 15 inch screen, and a free spare battery for $699.

Best Buy has has a Compaq 2190US same stats as above, no free spare batt for $649.

The wife and I teach NRA's Refuse To Be A Victim seminar (NRA Firearms cert also). We use a Power Point presentation with lots of JPG images imbedded.

Which one should I choose.

Thanks to the ARF.com brain trust.

Both are good deals. I'd go for the Toshiba first though. Better quality and the extra battery is useful.

Toshiba

One of the few brands out there I'll still trust.

Thanks for the help guys. We did go with the Toshiba.

We didn't get the Circuit City extended warranty. Pretty pricey at about $200 for two years.

Thanks again.

The Toshiba was a good choice. As to the warranty, the only components that would cost over $200 to replace would be the motherboard and the LCD screen, both of which are more likely to run for 2 years than not.
