Anyone else cut their own hair? I got fed up with waiting to get my hair cut and tried it myself with a set of clippers. It looks pretty good. I get better at cutting it each time I cut it. I haven't gotten my hair cut in a hair cutting establishment in over 2 years.

Nope, I shave my own head. Been doing it for 27+ years. [:D]

Do I cut my own hair?  Absolutely NOT!

I used to go to those "drop in no appointment required" places filled with just licensed beautician girls.  They absolutely butchered my hair - and as a fool I kept going back for over five years because I was cheap (Stupid - bang head repeatedly)...

I've tried barbers, but in this town they just want to shave you - no style at all.

I finally found a beautician at a womens hair beautique place that could give me a professional styled haircut.  I have a professional job and want to look good.

Yeah - it's pricey, I pay $25 plus tip (OK in this small town and that is pricey - in a large town that would be the tip).

I cut my own hair as a kid - but as an adult, NEVER!

I have been for a few years now.  I expect I'll keep doing it myself.

Yup, the old "twelve strokes of death", those old clippers have paid for themselves a hundredfold. The days of forty dollar haircuts are long gone. Along with most of my hair. I really don't miss the ornamental hair days... ==Bob

After the haircut my wife gave to my son when he was six, I would never trust her to cut my hair.  My trusty Wahl has served me well.  A #1 in the summer and a #3 in the winter.  BTW, my son does not trust me for this very reason.

Yea I do!

I put the on the 10mm guard and mow around my solar panel for a sex machine (bald on top). While bent over the trash can.

10mm because I love the caliber, 10mm auto.

I buzz my head with the smallest attachment or no attachment at all. I too have a professional job but my hair is starting to thin and paying money for a haircut is a waste of money to me.

One Wahl has saved me about $500 in hair cuts. I either do it myself in the mirror with a handheld mirror or my woman does it. I will use longer guards sometimes (not always just shaving it) and I can make it look like (or at least I think it looks like) a barber cut it.

no way, it would look terrible if I tried to cut my own hair.

I go to the old fashioned barber shop about once a month and get a "gentleman's cut".
$9.00 - $10.00

I got a haircut today [8D]

I've been thinking of trying one of those.  I remember the infomercials that they used to run.  I checked ebay for one and there a lots of them, but they are all a little too pricey for me.

Who has used one and how well do they work?

yessir,
the military "high n tight" is the easiest and most economical method. No guard around the sides, No. 2 Wahl on the top. Takes 10minutes tops.

#2 on top, #1 on the side...

Is there any other way?

Glad to hear I am not the only one. I had originally bought the clippers and tried to talk my wife into cutting my hair. She looked at me as if I was insane. I was determined so I tried it myself. I do a #1 adjusted to be between a #1 and #2 on back and sides then gradually work through the guards ending with a #6 on the very top then trim up the bangs with scissors.

Same here, it's been well over 2 years... but then again, my hair is so long now I just pull it around in front and trim the ends myself[;)]

Sure do, been cutting my own hair for about 6 years now. Since I ware it "high and tight" it's fairly eash to cut. First I go over the entire head with the 3/8" attachment then hit the sides and back with the 1/8" then use the bare trimmer for the last step with the sides and part of the back. Takes me about 20 miniutes but I don't have to pay anyone so to me it's worth it. Plus I can cut it anytime I want, don't have to drive in and wait for someone else. In the summer, when it gets so God awfuly hot, I'll normall just shave my head, it's cooler that way.

P.S.
I like my hair trimmers just like I like my Shotguns------Remington.LOL.
