I think good parenting would solve this, but then again, sometimes it's hard to tell what a game has in it by the box and previews. That's where spending quality time with your kids comes in. The age limit should be reduced to 16, or the driver's license age raised to 17. If your old enough to drive, your old enough to see an R-rated movie and buy an M-rated game.

I was talking to the manager of the local Software Etc, and she told me that a woman was there the other day buying [i]Grand Theft Auto: Vice City[/i] for her [b]eight year-old son[/b]. When the manager tried to tell her that the game was not really appropriate for an eight year-old, the mother blew a gasket. |

i got carded last week at walmart. i'm 25. i said 'are you serious?'. it was for socom navy seals 1 for ps2. pretty funny.

Shit, like 5 years ago I went to buy an M rated game and babagges carded me. I never went back. They were too high priced anyway.

I was carded for SOCOM II: U.S. Navy SEALs at Toys R Us, I was just light "Uhh, fine here"
Then I went to Electronics Boutique and bought Manhunt(which is by far, probably the most violent, gruesome game I've ever played) and didn't get carded at all. Manhunt is touted as a "Murder Simulator" by many reviewers. |

I also got carded at Walmart. I bought a Scooby Doo cartoon on DVD for my daughter (2 years old) who loves Scooby. Scanned the DVD and up went the flag - the cashier was even surprised!
