Hello, I'm looking at buying an Omega Speedmaster on-line. They are about 30% cheaper than going to the jewler. But I'm a little hesitant at sending off a couple of thousand dollars to some on-line store with no store-front.

Has anyone ever gone this route? Whenever I brought-up this option at the local jeweler he told me all these on-lines stores sell stolen or used watches as "new". I find this a little hard to believe! But then again, who knows....Any advise is welcome.

Go here to the [url=http://www.chronocentric.com/forums/omega]Omega Watch Forum[/url] and ask for a reference. Any number of guys there can get you in touch with an authorized dealer who'll give you as much as a 35% discount. On top of that, if you buy out of state, no sales tax.

Also, if you decide to buy online anyways, read the grey dealer FAQ on the same website. Good luck.

I have bought a couple of watches from Aaron's Watches. They weren't omegas though- I think one was a couple hundred bucks and the other was fairly inexpensive. I didn't have any problems, they were shipped out right away and appeared to be standard new in box (or whatever it is called with watches).

The jeweler has to say something to justify the higher price he has to charge to support his brick and mortar store. Maybe he's right, but I don't know.

Pay for it with a credit card so if there is a problem you have some avenue to respond

They were fine, had the lowest prices when I was in the market for a watch. I certainly wasn't looking for an Omega, tho.
