Someone told me that you can get them,kind of like pre-paid calling cards,is that true?


I would think they could be usefull in certain application(sp?).


Does anyone know were to get one?,are their any drawback to them?

Thats what my step duaghter wants for christmas is a prepaid credit card sounds like a good idea to me though wife says she is going to try our local bank see if they havm there

Yes, they are available.  I believe you can get them through Citibank and AAA (they are available other places also).

Amex has one and I think Visa, too.

They're basically the same as a secured cc, which most banks and cc companies have for risky credit people.

Are you trying to build/rebuild credit? if so, you might want to check if they report to the major three.
