Anybody seen this?  It seems to be on often.

The commerical starts with a little girl singing "My Country 'Tis of Thee" in the background while the Rainbow Six team sets up to do a hostage rescue. You see their sniper setting up his rifle as bad guys armed with AK's threaten the hostages. There are a few screenshots of the video game they are trying sell/promote but most of it is human footage. The commerical ends with the words "freedom is not free" and then the name of the video game.

I thought the music and final quote were very moving and that the commerical could just as well been for the Army or Navy. Granted it might only appeal to keyboard commandos but it is nice to still see patriotic commericals on TV.

God Bless America

Has any in the Rainbow Six series actually focused on stopping extremist enviro-nuts like the book did?

I know an accurate movie of R6 would never be made by h'wood - but did the game series at least take a whack at it?

This commercial is tied for being my favorite. I also like the new subway-skydiving commercial.

I saw it and was impressed. Too bad it is "just a video game" commercial. Good message.

The games are great. Back in the day, my two brothers, a couple of buds and I would team up online with internet voice comms and beat the living shit out of any takers. We would stack up, use "real" tactics against these guys and just blow thru any opposition. Too damn much fun. Rouge Spear was the one we played the most IIRC.

My thoughts EXACTLY.  I was getting goose bumps.

If they make a movie like that commercial, I'll pay $20 to watch it & my blood to own it.  If they could make something that patriotic into a pro-American movie about our war on terrorism, I would camp in front of the theatre til it came out, and then watch it over and over again and refuse to leave until it was released on DVD.

I love that commercial, but it's second best to the new Medal of Honor: Rising Sun commercial. That one is the shitzel, the way it starts out with the Hawaian music playing while someone is swimming under the water, and then they surface in the middle of the battle!!!

But the R6 3 commercial is very moving.

Great commercial.

I was dancing a jig until I realized it was for a video game.  My first thought was that it was some group finally standing up for this great nation.

Hey, most people think BHD would never be a movie, but it was a hit.

Do you guys remember what program you were watching when the ad ran?

I've seen the Medal of Honor ad (which was boss) I'd love to see the R6 ad.

I've been trying to find a place to watch them online, especially the R6 trailer.

If anyone can find it, post it here.  I don't watch TV but would love to see that commercial.

There was a really good commercial for a game a few weeks ago for a game called Hidden & Dangerous 2.  I thought the army should have commercials like that, it was good to go.

I really like that commercial.

I think the name is a little corny though (Rainbow Six Three).

After a little digging, I found some videos:

After 'Sum of all the Beer', I don't WANT to see another Clancy book get butchered into a movie...

No attention to detail... Characters re-arranged so Ben Afleck could play a snivling, liberalized, 'I just write reports' Ryan... Bad guys changed from Arabs and Communists to the ever-popular Nazis... Gratuitous anti-smoking messages that had nothing to do with anything else... And 4 obselete MiGs (or did they use F-5s again???) take down a US carrier that's coincidentally sailing without escort or CAP...

No doubt if Rainbow 6 was ever made a movie, the badguys would be an international corporation trying to hide pollution, Clark & Ding would be CIA desk analysts, and Pres Ryan would be Martin Sheen's character from The West Wing...

It's corny in the sense that it has two different numbers signifying different things.

Well, not to slap you or anything, but that is EXACTLY how Ryan started out in Hunt for Red October (the BOOK): a simple report-writer.

As for the "fake MIG's", the CGI aircraft were accurate representations of the Backfire Bomber, which is precisely the aircraft that would have carried out such an attack. Are you talking about a different scene?

No doubt if Rainbow 6 was ever made a movie, the badguys would be an international corporation trying to hide pollution, Clark & Ding would be CIA desk analysts, and Pres Ryan would be Martin Sheen's character from The West Wing...

Well, in Rainbow Six the evil presence IS a huge corporation run by a bunch of environmentalist whackos, so we KNOW that'll never make the screen.

Probably be Exxon wanting to destroy 5,000 supertankers in order to make a killing on fresh-water stocks or something.
