FCC APPROVES USE OF THE "F" WORD ON TV AND RADIO!
The Federal Communications Commission has approved the use of the "F" word for use on any TV show or radio program, ANYTIME DAY OR NIGHT!

The FCC said the word can be used whenever desired except in sexual situations!

>>No longer will movies shown on TV have to be edited because of language.

WE MUST ACT NOW TO STOP THIS!

Send your letter to your Congressman, Senators and members of the FCC.

Let them know that you want this stopped-NOW!

I think Wildmon is really reaching on this one. In October, the FCC ruled that U2's Bono did not violate the federal indecency laws by using the word "fucking" as an adjective during a live broadcast of the Golden Globe awards earlier in the year. In the FCC decision (you can look it up yourself), the FCC itself used the word "fuck" in various forms, which is kind of funny to me. At any rate, simply because the FCC ruled that this particular instance did not violate the law does not give TV, radio and print media free reign to start cussing like, well, me.

Furthermore, this is not "news" really. The FCC decision was handed down around the 7th of October. The decision was in response to complaints from an activist group, who were no doubt doing it "for the children."

The song "Who Are You?" by The Who has had the F-word in it for many years. There are two versions, however, and the radio stations can pick the one they want. Our local rock station in Tampa (103.5) chooses the one with the F-word.

I think this is good. Funny thing is you guys usually are chomping at the bit over government intrusion, but in this case you support it? Last time I checked radio and TV were mediums of expression, and that the first amendment guarantees freedom of expression. If you dont want your kids to watch such things, DON'T LET THEM.

The original purpose of the FCC was not censorship anyway...but to regulate broadcast frequencies.

If you dont like what you see or hear, change the channel. I do.
