Yes, there was a movie called "A Boy and His Dog" with Don Johnson playing a boy with a telepathic dog in a post-apocalytic world. Don Johnson meets a nice girl, she wants to get married. But in the end he has to choose between the girl and the dog. The girl is killed and is given to the dog to eat for the dog to regain his strength. |

Yep, it's a movie from 1975, starring Don Johnson!
