I am looking at some Model 1 kits. I noticed in their XM177 Style Kits an option for a hole flashider (5.5"). What is the origin of this flashider? Effective? pros and cons?

Thanks for any input

The origin is that it keeps your butt out of jail.  Those are permanently mounted on the 11.5 inch barrel they also sell in order to get you on the legal side of 16 inches.

My opinion is that if you legally have to have 16 inches, you might as well get a barrel that long in order to achieve a higher velocity.

Sorry, I need to clarify.

I know that the 5.5" flashhider is permanently attached to give 16 inches.  It is just that I have never seen this "hole" type flashider as opposed to the "regular" XM177 sytle flashider with slots.  Does anyone have experience with the "hole" type?

Thanks
