Fake news?
Go to SGammo. 50 round box and you don't have to prove anything except that you have money. |
|
They own Savage too. I wonder if certain rifles are about to be unobtanium as well or if this is just a thing to make sure they meet LE demand.
|

in stock here and I don't see any requirement of LEO/Mil.

Time for Federal to get S&W / Ruger'd for a while then?
Edit: Looking retailer specific as I read further. |

Walmart sells it I know some people that work for Hornady and they were surprised that I managed to score a 50rd box despite not being LE. They wanted to know where I got it but, "I don't recall." |

I just went to SGammo and looked at a 1000 round case of .40 HST ""LE"" Marketed ammo. https://www.sgammo.com/product/40-cal-ammo/1000-round-case-40-hst-federal-le-165-grain-hollow-point-p40hst3-ammo Here is a 50 round box of .45 https://www.sgammo.com/product/federal-ammo-sale/50-round-box-45-auto-federal-hst-230-grain-hp-hollow-point-le-ammo-p45hst2 If they did pull some BS, they are only hurting their own company... I'd bet that citizen consumers as a group, buy a bit more than various LE agencies... IF true, sounds like another Dicks... ***ETA*** Someone beat me to posting the links to Sgammo... |

I got an email from Bone Frog Gun Club this morning that said they were being forced to do the same going forward.

It's not fake news. It's happening.
It's primarily about profit. |

I will be replacing my HST with Gold Dots. ETA- SGammo doesnt appear to want credentials View Quote Bone Frog Gun Club, who has frequently sold ammo that was officially LE only like red box Hornady LE TAP, now says LE Only on product pages for both HST and Gold Dot. The HST page links to their credential form, while the Gold Dot page does not. (Edit: looks like some Gold Dot pages do have the form as well as the LE only message). Edited to add links: 9mm HST, Gold Dot |

I only carry Underwood full power 10mm ammo in my carry pistols. I don't use the under powered Federal 10mm cartridges anyway. Doesn't affect me.

I won't buy pistol ammo in 20 round boxes, period.
If they don't want my business that's fine. Plenty of gold dot 50 round boxes out there. But 20 round boxes? Will not buy, not now and not ever. I've also got enough HSTs and gold dots already that I dont really need to buy more. I like to stock up, but I can deprive them of business for a very very long time. |

So time to slam Federals facebook with harsh posts and bad reviews?

Too late fuckers! My grand kids will be shooting that shit (after dumping it out of 50 rnd boxes).

I did find this, a bit old, from May of this year... Not the same, but relevant to the path Vista looks to be planning on taking.

From Bone Frog Gun Club on 124gr HST ammo:

There are NO 50 round boxes of 9mm GOLD DOT at target sports usa. All 20 round. 60cpr.
They still have 50 round boxes of HST. |

so what's the difference between hst and their white box jhp, other than the weight in this example?
