Wednesday I'm taking the DLAB.  Any of you have any pointers?

I know many places I have looked have said that it's not really something you can study for.  I did find and take an example test on-line and did ok.

tnx

10 out of 10.  I took the test at MCRDSD in '85, and was selected for Signals Intelligence.  Too bad that pesky medical discharge got in the way.  I would LOVE to serve my country this way.  Too bad that at NSA, if you don't have at least a BS, you're no-go.

8 out of 10.  Do I get a visit from the JBT now?

I took it at reception this summer, and passed.

10/10 on the web version.. Just looks like basic reasoning using supplied rules, with a little edjumukated guessing to boot.  My recommendations would be to get a good night's sleep, eat a good breakfast, and RELAX for chrissake, it's not like they're gonna bring you out back and use the rubber hose on ya if you don't do well.

10 out of 10 here.
'Course I took a similar test at MCRD in '85, BTW Kpel, when exactly where you there? I was there in starting in October.

dont try to compare it to any other language.  do your best to quickly memorize the rules they give you regarding grammar.

It's just memorization.

I took it because I thought I needed it to go to SF selection. Turned out I was wrong. I did do well on the test. They said I qualified to be a linguist. The other kid from my company that would brag about how smart he was all the time didn't pass. It was a very unusual test. Pay close attention to details, and follow the rules and you'll be OK. I don't think you can really study for it.

9 out of 10

Pretty easy.  But I suspect the real test would be timed and that would present problems.

Got a 10/10.  I think what some of the previous posters said is right, just pay attention to the rules and it was easy.

I fancy myself as the occasional idiot, and I got a 10/10.  AND this was after 4-5 Budweisers.

Cryptology, here I come!

EDITED TO ADD:  Would they take a pending 34 yr. old energy trader who once broke his back 2 years ago(though with absolutely no side effects presently...I heal exceptionally well) BUT has a very rough grasp of the German language?

Guten Tag mein heiBe junge dame!  Mochtest du gern mein hieB weiB lieben-wasser schmecken?

(I made that up all by myself...one drunken New Year's celebration many years ago...)

10/10. That was a good ego builder - now I can say I did one thing right today

10/10 Pretty easy. Do you think the web test is easy so people will think they are really smart and want to join the Navy and do the DLAB and get the bonus, only to find out they are scrubbing toilets once they are in.
