Had to go to the DMV today to transfer over a truck I recently got.

Man, I have to admit to really liking to go to the DMV sometimes.I like to strike up conversations with people and to people watch too.

Anyways, when I arrive, there is the usual line outside made up of some human refuse, over-perfumed made-up babes, MILF's, illegals and assorted characters.

The DMV is always fun for people watching.You can view those that are downright nasty with staff, stinky bastards, the people who throw names around if you don't serve them quick enough, the handicapped guy that runs up to the front and demands he be served immediatley, the disgruntled vet who likens the DMV to combat in Korea, etc.

Anyways, there was a woman who brought her 4 little kids with her, she was two seats over with her misbehaving miscreants.Jumping on people, roling up apps and throwing them around while she sipped on her Circle K coffee and a maple bar.The kids were eating cheerios out of a paper sack and raising hell at the water fountain.These kids were really serving up a big dish of PITA to other people.Someone must've said something to the supervisor there because some old timer that just used up a bottle of Grecian formula came out to tell her to check her kids or leave.He reminded me of a 75 yr old Wayne Newton replete with jet black hair and pompador.

This woman screams to the kids at the top of her lungs "Dante, Le Andre, ???, and Lucefer, get your asses over here this instant.Holy smokes, did I hear her call one of her kids Lucifer?

After the kids settled down a bit, I asked, knowing I may be yelled at or attacked by her, (my damn curiosity was killing me, too)if her kids name was Lucifer.She said very coldly and rude that "she named him Lucefer(with an E) so nobody would f**k with him.

That was the extent of the conversation, my number was called, got my transer, registration and got the Fluck outta Dodge.

I remember back in 1992 or 1993, Pat Buchanan was interviewing an atheist couple on his radio program. The idiots had chosen to name their daughter "Atheist Evolution (whatever the last name was)".

They wanted to compete against people calling their kids "Christian".

You have to licensed, taxed and permitted to do shit that are true Rights (like CCW).  Most of the time this crap is only designed for 3 things so that State may control, track and profit off your activities.

OTOH the people that shouldn’t be procreating breed like oversexed rabbits on Viagra and in doing so qualify for all sorts of government handouts, programs and financial benefits.  Their spawn become the next generation of leeches on society.

It’s an insult to those people that are financially and emotionally fit to raise kids and whose offspring would become contributors to society that choose not to because the system effectively penalizes them for being good parents.

The system is broken and the fact that a parent names their spawn “Lucefer” specifically so “no one will fuck with them” (and will tell a total stranger that) is proof that, as ironic as it seems, we will breed ourselves out of existence.

About ten years ago there was a College basketball player(don't remember team) whose first name was Estrus. I got a good laugh out of that one.

Yes, it has negative cannotations due to mis-translation but it IS NOT the name of the "devil", it is a latin word. Latin wasnt even around (in that form) when the old testament was written.

You throw in two red herrings instead of actually saying something or debating it. I didnt comment one way or the other whether or not she was in the right, I just gave a history of the word.

Naming a child "Lucifer" (regardless of spelling or Latin roots) is just plain dumb. Everyone knows exactly what that name represents, and has represented for centuries. While I realize that it's just a word, it still has been inextricably linked to Satan.

Same holds with the names "Hitler" and "Stalin". Innocent names until the "gentlemen" in question showed up and smeared the names for all time. It's the same thing as calling their kid "Attila".

I have no respect for people who give their children names that they KNOW are going to cause the kids problems. None. If the kid wants to change their names after they grow up, fine, they have that right. But to open a kid up to endless ridicule for their own stupid reasons is inexcusable.

Mrs. FLAL1A is a social worker. She tells me about a home visit to a woman who might be expected to name a little girl "NaGuanda." This person has a 6 month old child.

I (as part of my program to appear to pay attention when the Mrs. is talking) ask "What time did you go by?" The answer: "10:30."

I ask "Why wasn't she at work?" [and d/n add "instead of slouching around her gov't-subsidized apartment in the middle of the day."]

The answer, upon my word: "She doesn't have to leave home again until the baby is TWO." TWO GODDAMNED YEARS OLD!!!! I asked for details and learned that welfare/workfare moms leave work (or school) in the 3d or 4th month of pregnancy and go back when the little WIC Check turns 2.

Mrs. FLAL1A, being a social worker, did not share my outrage when I pointed out that among  people like us, mom works up till a couple of weeks before birth and goes back to the salt mine when the tyke hits 6 weeks, while someone who is a net drain on civilization (and to be blunt, is likely to be birthing the Crack Dealers of Tomorrow) gets THIRTY F'ING MONTHS OF MATERNITY LEAVE ON THE PUBLIC DIME IN A SUBSIDIZED APARTMENT.

All I can say is "Thank God for the conservative revolution. Otherwise we'd still be subsidizing . . . well, hell."

I'll share mine since you shared yours. My wife's brother-in-law (BIL) mother is a social worker for the state of CA. Her job is to process welfare applicants and counsel them.

The BIL works at IBM/Hatachi doing basic labor jobs like boxing disc drives in shipping. I've had a few opportunities to listen to him talk about his career. Basically, he likes what he is doing (been doing it there for maybe 15 years) and had turned down promotions to supervisor. Odd, I thought this man was lazy and had no ambition. He also stated that he receive a good deal on his townhome in the Sacremento area because the seller didn't know the market rates.

So as the years go by, I've stayed at his townhome and learned not to walk the dog in the neighborhood at night without a CCW. I've heard the stories about the association residents stealing from each other.

Then I started to wonder how could this guy commute to San Jose (where IBM/Hitachi is located) for a low paying job, support three young kids, and not have is wife work. It gets hot in Sacramento in the summer and my wife says her sister runs the AC all the time. Alarms go off because our electrical rates have prohibited this unless one is on the low-income subsidy for energy (we all pay into this via a tax on our energy statements out here... telephone too).

So, I start to poke around. It turns out that the "good-deal" on the townhome was low-income housing (section 8) which allows him to buy it at one-third of the market rate. Yes that is right, California typically requires a 66% discount on low-income housing for developers who want the state's subsidized construction loans and elimination of zoning hurdles.

He has been turning down promotions at work in order to keep his income under the cap for welfare. He receives WIC for his youngest but he is about to be too old for WIC. Now they are talking about having a fourth child because WIC pays. His other two boys are in school and receive free breakfast and lunch meals courtesy of the CA taxpayer (me as I get arse-raped by this state's franchise tax board). This is insane but it gets better. He is trying to remove his townhome from section 8 to sell it at market rates for the windfall.

People on welfare have no shame. They should not be allowed the ATM visa and be forced to use food stamps at the cash register so others may see.

I've saved the best one for last. One family member talked to my wife's sister about this. She says her mother-in-law's reply is her Asian co-workers abuse the system and lie on the applications for their family and relatives! Enough of this racial classification. See where it gets us?
