There appears to be a news blackout on whatever is happening.
On the 7th the FBI took over the observatory and the local post office. No information is getting out as to why. This is an image from qrz.com that posts images of the sun that are updated several times a day. They are sourced from that observatory and are from a satellite. So why would the image of the sun be occluded in a satellite image? What could it be? Aliens? Killer CME brewing? Something about the Clintons? The only link to a news story I find is from https://www.kvia.com/news but I get an error when I try to go to the site. |

Can’t been too secret if I found multiple pages via Google saying the post office was evacuated for security reasons.
Pron? Pot needle spill? |

Random note, I saw a strange occurrence in the sky the other day. There is a relatively blank spot in the sky (light pollution) with a reddish star/planet that I saw a bridght blue flash next to, there appeared to be a faint blue dot remaining afterwards for a couple seconds and then it was gone.
Aliens warp hopping over? |

I have several unreliable sources feeding me info on this but I can't post anything mcnuggets

SUNSPOT, New Mexico - The National Solar Observatory in Sunspot, New Mexico, and a nearby United States Postal Service office, were evacuated for security reasons Thursday, observatory officials said.
"We have decided to temporarily vacate this facility as a precautionary measure. And we're working with the proper authorities on this issue," Association for Universities for Research in Astronomy spokeswoman Sheri Lofson said. View Quote |

Safety reasons due to a pot needle spill, or maybe a spring-loaded Butt plug from the Californication thread?

Possibly picked up and photographed a mil satellite or experimental vehicle, and they're there to detain all the photos, computers etc. One other wild guess, as wild as that, is that someone at the lab was going to mail photos to a foreign power.

Shut that shit down, that Kirk guy is coming with some Romulan ale, he said something about history books and some prime directive BS.
Rgr sir, we just shut it down, tell him to be quick so NORAD doesn't pic up the drop shuttle. We have all the stuff he wanted to trade. |

I've been wondering as well after seeing it on the news here. The sun image on the website may be artificially occluded, I seem to remember them telling us that they do that sometimes to see stuff like Coronal Mass Ejections better. BTW It's a lovely place.
Another news article with a bit more detail: https://www.alamogordonews.com/story/news/local/2018/09/07/sunspot-observatory-south-cloudcroft-closed-due-security-issue/1227788002/ "Otero County Sheriff Benny House said the Otero County Sheriff’s Office was asked to standby. “The FBI is refusing to tell us what’s going on,” House said. “We’ve got people up there (at Sunspot) that requested us to standby while they evacuate it. Nobody would really elaborate on any of the circumstances as to why. The FBI were up there. What their purpose was nobody will say.” He said he has a lot of unanswered question about what occurred at Sunspot. “But for the FBI to get involved that quick and be so secretive about it, there was a lot of stuff going on up there,” House said. “There was a Blackhawk helicopter, a bunch of people around antennas and work crews on towers but nobody would tell us anything.” The Daily News contacted the Albuquerque FBI spokesman seeking comment for this story, but telephone calls and messages were never returned. House said he pulled his deputies from the facility after there was no identifiable threat. “They wanted us up there to help evacuate but nobody would tell us anything,” he said. “We went up there and everything was good. There was no threat. Nobody would identify any specific threat. We hung out for a little while then we left. No reason for us to be there. Nobody would tell us what we’re supposed to be watching out for.”" |
