My favorites, 45 auto - first centerfire handgun I ever owned 357 mag. - lighter gun than 44 and hits hard 10mm - hard hitting auto cartridge 44 mag - heavy gun, hard hitting, I hunt with it 9mm - only reason I like it, thats what my 92F shoots Ditto - however possibly replace the 10mm with the 40 S&W. (I'd rather have a 10mm myself though) |

.45 - Hard hitting, man-stopping round
.357 mag - good combination between effective power and clip capacity .357 SIG - " 9mm - Cheap and accurate, good range practice load. Allows for high capacity easily. These are the only handgun cal's I've dealt with, but I suppose I'll make number 5... 5.7 x 19mm Fabrique Nationale - used in the FN P90/Five-Seven pistol, the supersonic version of this round (out of a pistol too, mind you) is over 2000fps and accurate up to 300 yards. Never used/touched/seen it, as I'm sure there's very few in the US. Nevertheless, if the pistol wasn't LE only (which I'm sure it is) I'd pick it up in a heartbeat |

.45 ACP - Best all-around GP round.
.44 Remington Magnum - Solid for long-range and high-power work .22LR - Excellent for hold-out, pocket, and ankle pistols. Also useful for improvised firearms and AOW .357 Magnum - Good for duty carry, but not quite as good (IMHO) as the .45ACO .224 Boz - New CT/LE round, last 2(?) years. Only ranked so low through never no personal experience, ballsitics and performance numbers promising. FFZ |

1. .22LR semi-auto
2. .22LR semi-auto 3. .22LR semi-auto 4. .22LR semi-auto 5. 10mm semi-auto I would not want to be on the receiving end of one of my Ruger or High Standard bull barrelled .22 LR semi-autos. Recoil practically nil. No other caliber can be shot more accurately or followed up more quickly. You can also take down multiple assailents much quicker. You might have to make more than one shot to put someone down if you place a bad shot. But I still would feel most confident with one of my .22's. As we know the .22's do not have the penetrating ability for shooting through car doors, car glass, walls, ceilings, body armor, heavy bone mass, etc. In these cases or if its a big animal I would probably prefer my 10mm. I load some pretty wicked 10mm loads to shoot in a 1911 Delta model. |

timeport .223 They do eXist. Yes sir, the Contender, the Encore, you can order Remington's (XPs?), & a few others. It's a funny world (I'd like to start a thread called "Things that really DID happen, that no one would believe"), my first 223 was registered as a "pistol" - a 10" Colt AR15. That part's not hard to believe, but I bought it at a hardware store [b]in[/b] Chicago! City hall made me bring it to the loop to register it imagine doing that today - I'd make the news! I disassembled it, brought it down to the basement in city hall, & the officer never blinked -- just put it back together, measured the barrel, & OAL (He wasn't sure WTF to register it as). Oh, yeah he said he couldn't believe Colt did such a terrible, stupid, & useless thing to a nice rifle (He was right - the thing never did work 100%, & hit like a .22 Mag). FreeFire Zone .224 Boz - New CT/LE round, last 2(?) years. Only ranked so low through never no personal experience, ballsitics and performance numbers promising. Glad somebody else remembers that! WTH is Glock's excuse these days, they promised to have it out last November on the 20 frame, even uses regular 10mm mags (They're just .40/10mm shells necked down to use OUR favorite projectile)? Last I heard, it's hung up in politics - something about it defeating BP vests, ultimate "cop killer bullet", etc.? |

I like the .41 mag for hunting
I use a .357/38 combination for target shooting/plinking. I also like my .22LR handguns, cheap and fun to shoot. The 45 ACP was my in a 1911 was my first love!! OSA |

1) 44 mag (redhawk) 320gr HCSW at 1350fps.
2} 357 mag (686 Smith) Minute of beercan@100yds. 3) 221 fireball (xp-100) Very efficient round. 2700 fps 50gr TNT out of a 10 1/2 barrel 4) 243 win (savage striker)NYS "shotgun only" alternative for whitetail. 5) 22lr (colt 22) Super reliable. Able to run nearly a brick without jaming. |

1. 475 Linebaugh: If Godzilla breaks down your doow in the middle of the night..this will take care of him.
2.) 45 ACP...good, effective, readily available. 3.) 44 Magnum. (works well on 2 legged varmits) 4.) 45 Colt. (hey if it was good enough for Doc Holiday..its good enough for me). 5.) 22 LR: everybody needs a cat cartridge. |
