I use ammo cans for all storage of ammo.

The ss109 surplus ammo, I keep on stripper clips, in bandoleers, in the ammo cans.

I also have Federal American Eagle on the red strips. Since this is my range ammo, I leave it on the red strips, put take it out the boxes and keep it in an ammo can as well. I can store about 500 rounds per can of this stuff using this method.

Keep it dry, in moderate temperatures, and in original packaging.
Leaving it loose can damage the tips.

I "rotate" my stock, and always keep plenty on hand.

I keep mine in ammo cans then put them in a Coleman cooler (old metal type). It has worked for me for years.
