A tour group came by this afternoon. After they left I was informed that one of them was the world's foremost expert on the Antikythera device! I was humbled, for sure.

Seriously, that guy has amazing quality especially given half his tools are handmade. Yet they are still practically museum grade when done. I'd love to know what he does for a living, because I'm blown away at some of his videos.

Flip through his channel sometime. He builds an absolutely beautiful clock from scratch over a series of videos. But yeah, it's really hard to stop watching those once you get started.

He is actually building the antikythera machine based off of MRI scans or whatever. This guy makes me want to buy a small lathe and mill but I have a feeling my expectations and results would be very different.
