There's a button to make it "ping". That's for when you want it to sound like the octane is too low.

The DLA button was a hot line to Frau Stone at the Presidio. This is how they handled fan mail translation fron all those Germans that love the hoff.

As for the function buttons: 6 rm - Recon Mode? P eng - Pursuit Engine? I don't know, but eng screams 'engine' to me. 9 pl1 - Phone Line, Police? |

Turbo boost was what allowed KITT to jump inordinate distances at regular speeds---as if the car was accelerating to crazy speed on a 600 foot straightaway and hit a ramp.
(TLDR: It made the car jump long distances even when going at slow speeds) |
