Nine feet of sewage somehow entered and filled the repair trench at the collapsed sewer interceptor site on 15 Mile Road in Fraser, throwing into question whether the work can be completed next month as planned.
Macomb County Public Works Commissioner Candice Miller is scheduled to have a news conference at 1 p.m. today to discuss the issue at the sinkhole along 15 Mile between Utica and Hayes roads.
The incident occurred during the overnight hours between Monday and Tuesday.
No one was hurt and no one was in the trench at the time the sewage flowed into it, according a news release from Miller's office this morning.
