Mags, I stopped at 49.  But might get more later. Just not now.

And I've been buying lpk for $38.

The left learned their lesson last time.

If (and I pray there isn't) there is a "next time," their aim will be to make it so that nothing will be "grandfathered."

Yes, a confiscation ban IS on their wish list.

Making something a felony to possess is a defacto ban.

Look at NY-sure,you can have all your old toys that were completely legal not that long ago,BUT,if you get caught with them, you are screwed.Kids talk at school, fight with the significant other, nosy neighbor, gas leak someone needs to check out in your home,etc.............boom.

As for fighting back, when has that really happened?Look at all the abuses heaped on us and we do nothing.Mandatory health insurance or pay a fine and .....we do nothing.

Lots of Fuck Yous from people in government doing whatever the hell they want with no consequences/accountability and...........we do nothing.

States turning law abiding people into felons overnight and ............we do nothing.

And we keep reelecting the vast majority of shit that have helped bring us here over and over.........

There is another ban in the future, and it would not surprise me at all if it came from the Republicans since many of them have fucked us before, but I just see more grumbling and "we'll vote our way out of this next election, for sure".

https://www.lewrockwell.com/2004/10/jeff-snyder/walter-mittys-second-amendment/

In that fruitful land, the state took about 50 percent of everything the people earned through numerous forms of taxation, up from about 25 percent only a generation earlier. However, this boastful people, who believed themselves to be the freest on earth, retained the right to keep and bear arms. Tens of millions of them possessed firearms – just in case their government became tyrannical and enslaved them.

In that land, an astronomical number of regulations, filling more than 96,000 pages in the government’s “code of regulations,” were promulgated by persons who were not elected by the people. The regulators often developed close relationships with the businesses they regulated, and work in “agencies” that had the power both to make law – and to enforce it.

The agencies were not established by the government’s constitution, and their existence violated that instrument’s principle of separation of powers. Yet the people retained the right to keep and bear arms. Just in case their government, some day, ceased to be a “government of the people.”

Our system is setup to prevent violence due to political change. No one wants to be the guy sitting in prison for going off when the Supreme Court strikes down the law that he was just shooting people over. The slight glimmer of hope is what made the Jews willingly climb aboard the trains and walk into the showers. Hope is what modern nations use to keep people peaceful. OP...there are 330 million people in the US.  You say..."millions" have bought mags/lowers....etc....if we take 3%, your around 10 million.....let's take 1/3 of that....so I could believe that ya, MAYBE 3.5-4 million are doing what you are saying.

Now, what do you think is going to happen when the other 85-90 million gun owners in this country, after the fact...think it will be a good idea to maybe get something because things are looking shitting again......then the other 230 million want to pick something up?

Shit will get expensive, fast.  You will make a premium on your return....if you think it's going to happen and you bought enough that you are willing to sell.

Of course....the USSC could take the Maryland case and say these guns/mags are constitutionally protected.....then the bottom will fall out of the prices OR they might uphold it....I think that it would be time for American's to do some soul searching and..........

They'll find a way to make them all DDs or similar:  grace period to register them.  Once that's complete, turn them all in.

You can say what you want about constitutionality of any law. The 94 ban happened and will happen again. It all depends on who is in power. The constitution did not prevent the ban from happening. Look at the growing list of states enacting laws in violation of the second amendment  More states every few years.

I left after the pro gun Governor Pataki (R) pushed for and signed the State AWB.

Saw the writing on the wall.Couldn't get my Dad to leave,so he shipped me his unSAFE mags and I sent him 10rd mags.  Spent his whole life there as a law abiding, tax paying veteran, and gets turned into a felon overnight.

I still have quite a few friends there that will not comply, but it's a huge sword hanging over their head.

I was just old enough to buy guns when the ban went in and I was living and going to college in MA  when the federal ban went out but the MA ban went in.

I'm not convinced that it will happen again. There are way more people into MSRs or whatever you want to call it, the war or terrorism has made lots more people aware of the need to own guns and the net let's information spread much quicker and makes it much harder for the liars and propagandists to get their way.

Last time they were able to break the Fudds off from our group and support the ban, I don't see that happening again.

Stockton CA school shooting 1989

I sold my 2 AR15s($800 each, built with used parts kits from Nesard), and a Sig P226 for $700 and each extra mag for $100
AR-mags sold for $20 each(cost$5)

Ya 1994 was nuts

Ammo for 5.56 was nuts in 1999(for Y2k, selling for 40% extra)

pre election 2007 was again nuts for ammo(380 was the out of stock hotness for neckbeards)

Sandy hook, we might not see this type of hype for 20 more years. (over 15 years had elapsed for AWB in 94)

If Hillary would of been elected, we would of saw a bump, or a double bump if an event happened.

2024, it will be a soft buildup, so not a Sandy hook type of event.

After 2024, a Dem suspends the Constitution, major event.

After 2 major events, I think Trump would cave too.

Something is always coming.
Due to legalities, I still don't invest much to sell later(I'd hate to only have Gen2 Pmags, when peeps want gen4(future gens) or Lancers, lol), storage security sucks too.

Selling enough to buy a new dually doesn't suck!!

I just built my rifle within the limits they set. People are still doing that now to work around their fucked up laws. They made the first AW ban according to the number of evil features like bayo lugs and flash hiders. I had a M16 kit that I cut off the bay lug and replaced the flash hider with a muzzle brake and built my ban compliant rifle.

Now is the time to buy cheap and stack deep. Also, and possibly more importantly, buy a decent milling machine and take some classes at a local community college/trade school to learn how to use it. If the law is going to make me a felon then fuck it... I'm going all out. Full auto all the things.

I still have an AK with a thumbhole stock.  The ban was terrible.  Prices were insane for some items.  And yet, you could still get basically get most things -- 10 rd mags instead of 30 etc.

The next ban will be way worse.  I believe the real question is whether or not it will include mandatory turn ins.

Just 3 days ago I was speaking with a gun owner.  We were on this topic and mass shooters, maniacs etc.  He said to me "Something has to be done to stop them"  He was talking in terms of new laws.  I brought up point after point about murder is already illegal, criminals don't care about laws and law abiding citizens, magazine size means next to nothing, every logical point we all know.  After every one he didn't respond with a counter argument valid or flawed.  He just answered with "Something has to be done" for every point I made.  Over and over.  "Something has to be done" Don't kid yourself.

I think they would follow the California model at best if they did another one. Aka if grandfathered they would be non transferable and would need to be turned in at the death of their owner.

If they did it exactly like 94 yes everything would become valuable over time. You are thinking way too small. Think of say surplus. Mosins are very meh and there were shit loads of them now they aren't as prevalent and are over 3x what they were when I was a kid. Look at skses same thing. There is a constant flow of new people into the market seeking to buy their first add in a limited supply that is constantly dropping because shit happens and things break and the prices will go up. Another good example is transferable mgs. The original number of those was pretty small which made the end effect more dramatic.

I'll echo what others have said.  CA updated ban in 2000 was the first next step by those who would wish to see those" scary things" go away.  Of course, it was challenged and loopholes found.

The antis had years to develop the next step and of course we get the SAFE Act which basically nullified any of previous loopholes and of course we have CA's attempt at a next step within their state.  The idea of course is to remove the ability to hoard things effectively for that rainy day and make the legal market black.  Federally I don't see anything happening soon but as we know, blue states are always at risk.  NJ will be interesting.

ETA: I still have one AR that is in "ban" configuration that I used to take up to NY and shoot when my cousin lived there and I traveled.  Of course, it means about jack for freaking squat now so I may finally un-ban it.

I lived through the Clinton AWB. That was all BS. It was basically a testing ground to see what would fly. That was the best they could get. Their underlining intentions are full blown confiscation. They  really don't hate the guns. They hate the people who love this country and believe what it stands for. The guns put a blockade in their way to achieve their end game goals. Full blown socialism/ communism. It has been a long time since the first ban. They have shown their true colors. Look at the violent protests.antifa,BLM ect. Don't worry about bans. They want to hurt you. I would be worried about that. At one point in the future people are going to be put in a position to make some very serious choices. Choices they wish they would never have to make. These are very violent people and they are gaining a lot of traction. This is not going to be an arfcom wet dream SHTF game. I have not seen this country in such a bad place in my whole life. The Vietnam protests were different. This is actually geared towards US citizens, the foundation of this nation,God almighty and every good and decent thing this country has ever produced. In all our problems this country still did great things. We were never perfect but we had many great moments.

Their leader is Satan and they are following him full force.

ETA: the protests in the 60's were the stepping stone to the protests of today. Go to YouTube and look at the 1960 video more deadly then war. It is an hour long and it explains everything we are seeing today. Arfcom has posted it a few times. It is in black and white and the people are dressed in suits and dresses. They were seeing the beginning of our nightmare. At the end of the video the commentator says he believes the USA can change the direction and not go down the path it is on.

I am sorry to tell him he was wrong.

If another ban happens, prices will skyrocket, as always. This stuff just disappears.

Example: look at all of the MAK90s from the 90s. At gun shows, they were stacked as high as the dealer could stack them.I can't imagine how many came into the country. 20 years later, I think I've only seen about 6 of them on the market, and they want stupid money for them.

The same will happen with all ARs  and mags, any full capacity mag, regardless of how shitty it is.

I remember glock mags going for $90 and I could see them selling for 150 the next time.

I was in another country/too young to know what was going on during most of it.

Then it sunset, right before this all the news had videos of children firing machine guns screaming about how everybody was going to get MGs and civilization would collapse in an orgy of no holds barred violence and rivers of blood. I think to myself. "That looks like fun, I'm going to get one of those."

About a week later I shot a semiauto only tommy gun. I was pissed to find out that the law only restricted 30 round magazines and certain features. New MGs were off the table.

Still I have been a degenerate semi-auto rifle and handgun addict since.

To try to buck the theme of this thread. I don't worry about any future federal bans, state bans will probably get progressively worse, but those states are irredeemably fucked anyway. If the Feds get back in this game it will probably be part of a much bigger power grab which will finally reveal if all the tough talk here is sincere, or just hot air.

In 1998 I bought an sks with a removable mag conversion and 1 30 round mag for $200.  In '99 I traded that to a collector for a used car he was selling, 1986 caprice wagon with 239k on the odo so a $500 car.

Next time around there will be no grandfathering or sunset.  If national registration ever happens would give it less than 10 years before start seeing mandatory buybacks.
