When I was reading up on the performance of the Agulia Mini-Shells (buckshot) I read somewhere that the Winchester 1200/1300 would feed them without the use of a adapter.

Well a Win. 1300 Defender came my way for cheap today so I bought it. 18.5" barrel, 8+1 capacity with 2.75" shells. I tried the mini shells and they fed/extracted just fine and the gun holds 12 of them...11+1.

A also tried a combination of 1.75", 2.75", and 3" shells in the mag tube and everything worked just fine.

Got a box of those when I bought my 1300 12 ga from a friend, never fired. Feeds those fine, also shoots just fine. Months later Arfcommer was selling a 20 ga 1300, bought it for Mrs BTB.

Nice. I hated the corn cob slide stock so changed it and the rear to walnut.  Are you going to tell us you got it for two bits?

I have never tried the minishells, I might have to pick some up.

The 1300 is a great shotgun, I will never let mine go. I remember buying it at Big5 like 20 years ago. Camp Defender just has a nice ring to it.

$125.00. I don't think they were much more than that new on sale.

I saw the same shotgun with a factory digital camo job and pistol grip for 450.00 a few weeks back.

guns with factory pistol grips can be cut down and bird headed if the overall length is 26"

I have no idea if the after market offers a shockwave set for the 1300.

I am a mossberg man when it comes to trashguns, but I would by a 1300 if the price is right(120ish).

I would not cut it up tho unless I had an extra barrel and mag tube so I could switch it back to factory parts.

Nice!

I picked up a 1300 (not defender model) earlier this year and cut the barrel down to 18.5"  ($100 at local gun show.)

I've been wanting to find out if the mini-shells work in it but didn't want to spend the money to find out they don't.

Glad to know that they indeed will!

Thanks OP!

Anyone know if those mini shells work in a Winchester 1200?

Greatest shotgun ever made.  Just didn't do well with marketing like Remington did.

Carried that exact same model, same config, same finish for 12 years of an LE career. It served me well.  Bent the receiver twice though.  Now I have an 870.

Shi'ite dude, where did you find the Aguila's?  Second mortgage, or firstborn?

Arm? Leg? Arm and a leg?

Those damn things are as scarce as hen's teeth...and cost 3x as much!

My LGS got in two cases of the buckshot so I stocked-up.

I had some 7.5 shot and slugs.

Not cheap at $15.00 a box.

The slugs are sort of interesting. They have around the same power as a .69 cal .45acp.

From what I read yes. No 1st-hand experience though.
