I don't know but, you have the best avatar on the site.

Currently waiting in a cop shop to get fingerprinted for three Form 4s. Using the new Silencer Shop bar coded forms.  Maybe I'll get mine back before you?

Gives you more time to add the run flat tires and extra rail sections to your wheel chair though doesn't it.

I am telling ya'

This is fucking INSANE how long we have to wait.

I "knew" about the long wait times but ACTUALLY GOING THROUGH IT really drives the fucking point home.

I've waited 24mo on my longest.  I'm still a new guy in the grand scheme of NFA, but I'm sitting on 8 stamps.  It has gotten to the point where I legitimately forgot about one Form 1 SBR I did on a lower.  Got an email from the ATF and I was confused.  Took me a while to remember succumbing to the panic and filing that form out

There's like 3 people that handle all of the forms.  They are government employees and punch in
for a 40 hour week but probably only work 20.  No offense to other government employees...working 20 hours a week.

I'm 61 and just submitted a Form 4 on a Colt 614 that took almost one year to the day to get from the dealer out of state to the local dealer.  Seems the transfer was f'd up and it went to a "trouble desk" in Martinsburg and the examiner handling that shit took a 4 month leave.  I suggested to the ATF that these things be processes based on birthdays as the young guys have more time to wait.   They said they would think about it.

My first stamp was

Check cashed 12/28/15 (maybe give or take a day)
Approved 4/1/16.

I thought 4 months was too long

seriously,

I would not bother making an SBR gun unless I was putting a suppressor on it

the NFA process is not worth it just to own a short gun

besides, it could be argued that the short gun is technically inferior to the longer version

I have a 6920 and I don't see any reason to shorten it, the barrel length is just about optimum

on the other hand, full auto is worth a year wait

Why are you buying them in your name?

If you use a trust and die while waiting, the transfer still happens to the trust, with no effect of probate.  If you die waiting on a NFA item in your own name, and if you have NFA items in your name, leave them to your trust in your will. Its a tax-free transfer and then the trust owns them.

Yea .  I bought one of the first Sig MPX's in DFW and the day I brought it home I submitted a F1 on it.  It sat in the ATF's bucket for 11mo before it went to an error status because it failed moving from one bucket to another in the eForms system.  I had to resubmit it because they jacked up the form.  So then I waited another 13mo.......sucked.
