I think it is Liberalism and FSA entitlement attitude.

We're headed the way of South Africa where the entitlement class outnumbers the productive class.

The entitlement class, since they possess the population numbers, holds the political power.
Pandering politicians acquiesce to the demands of their entitlement class constituents to progressively raise taxes on the productive class.
Entitlement class grows in number (due to out of control birthrate and illegal immigration) until there is no more blood to be drawn out of the beleaguered productive class who have been shouldering the this burden for years.
Pandering politicians must borrow to make up the difference.
The government money-printing/quantitative-easing/debt-devaluing Ponzi-scheme house of cards eventually implodes upon itself.
The free-shit appeasement spigot runs dry.
Food riots, mass looting, race wars, and systematic murder of the productive class at the hands of a jealous/resentful entitlement class are the result.
Country ceases to exist and descends into the chaos of a failed state.

Flipped over what John was saying is that our Constitution was inadequate to deal with immoral, corrupt, greedy, douche bags and what he wanted was something or some mechanism that was better suited for what he knew humans were actually capable of. What John said was a warning not a commendation.
