At one time, the Masons represented white, Protestant, cisgender patriarchy. They were a shadow government always conspiring to oppress non-whites, Jews, Catholics, and others.

Yet there are Masonic symbols on many older, public, government buildings.

Should I demand, as a former RC, that these stones be removed because of the pain caused to past generations of my family, my Great-grandmother Sophia Meyer, and my two black second cousins?

Once the weather cools off, I'll be ready to protest as long as it isn't the same day as the grand opening of the new Harbor Freight in town. I'm busy that day.

I was a member briefly. They do good work. Started out as an insurance company for poor, catholic immigrants.

Even as someone who grew up in the RCC and remembers all the pre-Vatican II ceremony of the Tridentine Mass in addition to being a member of that noble cult known as Texas Aggies, it was a little too feathery (hats and capes) for me.

But just like Masons, they do good works. Unless you are an aboriginal Caribbean native and then it sucked to be under Christobol Colon's control.

Having been on a Carnival cruise to the Caribbean, I guess then I am oppressed by the Knights of Columbus but I can't find anything to trigger me.

I'm pretty sure that Masons have been oppressed in worse ways BY the Roman Catholics, than the other way around.

I was invited to join a Masonic Lodge. Or at least start the process. Life was too hectic already so didn't accept the invitation.
