It's a real time capsule. In the camera bag there was a even a box of film with a 1988 expiry date.
This camera looks like new. |

I still have my old FM, as well as my old mentor's F4s and 600 f4.0.
The F4s needs a bit of a tune up, going to have to send it out shortly for that. The FM is in great shape, IIRC mine is from 1977, a year before I was born. |

I bought an FM2n new in 1991, and still have it. Probably only put about three or four rolls through it. It started the Nikon bug for me, I have had several different Nikon SLR's - currently have a F2 Photomic in pretty decent shape and a few pre-AI lenses to go with it.

Damn you're lucky, those Nikons really hold their value. I'm still banging around my old Ricoh KR-5 Super II but they are only worth a few dollars now, at least the old K mount lenses are cheap :)

Great cameras. I have a chrome one and an FM2/T with the titanium top and bottom plates. Get a nice leather half case off e-bay for it and some Tri-X to run through it.

Nice camera!
I had a F series camera for many years before I decided that I was going all in DSLR. I gave my niece the entire setup since she enrolled into a photography course and needed a film camera. I used to have a darkroom setup and developed and printed my own film - it was a great time but I moved on.

I was in the photography business for 35 years. Knowing what we can do with digital, and the cost of doing anything at all with film, I'd have given you my F and FM2 as well. Hell I have 60 or so Nord SLR 35mm unperf cameras and 100ft roll mags, with cords, power packs and cases rotting away in our warehouse.

That's an awesome story. I always wanted a FM2 when I was younger but they were far too expensive. I might have to see what they are going for now.

The film generation of Nikon cameras was built like a tank, and they also weighed like one. They had ball bearings when others were using sleeve bearings. They also had interchangeable viewing screens and various finders such as pentaprisms and waist level etc, and of course a gazillions of accessories.

Great Score! I picked up a Silver Body Canon AE-1 with 5 prime lenses, motor drive, flash, a ton of filters and all the original manuals and a case at a silent auction for $20. It looked like it just came from a store. I was giddy as a school kid. Nobody else was interested in "that old camera" it takes some awesome clear shots as well.

Buy one of these . . . Panasonic/Lumix G3 micro 4/3 bodies . . . off of eBay for about $150 . . .
and one of these . . . Nikon F/G to micro 4/3 lens mount adapter . . . for ten bucks . . . 
and bring all of those old manual 35 mm format lenses into the digital world. You won't believe how well they still work.

Nice. I love old Nikons and Nikkormats.
Seals are likely shot based on the dozen's I've handled in the last 10 years. Replacing them isn't bad at all. Check eBay for a kit. |

I've got a FG that I really enjoyed shooting black and white as well as infrared many years ago. I kinda miss it at times but without a darkroom nowadays it may have to wait to see if I get back to it.
I've got about 20 rolls of developed B&W and Infrared I've never had a chance to see on Paper. If my be a fun discovery to find some really ones in there in the future. |

I still have a FA, a couple F3's, an F4s, 6006 and N90s.
Also my grandfather's Rollieflex and Rolliecord. Haven't shot film for years. Only digital anymore. |

Fluffy, that's a great gift to receive. Slow, deliberate film photography with a beautiful device. Nice to have even just as a collectible.

I still have my Canon A-1 and AT-1.
One full auto and one full manual. My daughter is using the AT-1 for her photography classes. It would be great if someone could make a CCD adapter for 35mm cameras. The roll housings could be used for batteries and/or memory. Imagine the image quality of a 35mm CCD!
