I'm looking at building a new rifle. I have a few different ideas but keep bouncing around different ways.

I have just sold a basic railed 16.

I was looking at a pistol, or an 18/20 build. Even a dissy.

Will be pinker, HD and ride in the truck.

What's your next rifle?

I just bought the 'next one' I had been wanting, so I don't have any other rifles planned at the moment.

Handgonne barrels, on the other hand..

18" barreled .308 Semi-Auto, hi-cap mag fed.

Specially for shooting at targets out to 650 yards. Also an IR laser, suppresor compatible and tuned to my 168gr handloads.

Had a Grendel before my 16 and it was a really good shooter, built to be a hunting rifle. Went differently when I missed hunting season

I keep fighting the temptation to build an M16A2 clone in 6.5 Grendel.  I haven't done it for a couple reasons: my safe is full (mostly AR builds) and I have to drive quite a ways to shoot at ranges greater than 100 or 200 yards.

I've also been resisting the temptation to build an integrally suppressed (one stamp) carbine in .45 ACP (DI45) or 300 blackout.  That would get shot more, but the safe is still full

Anything less than a Barrett .50 w/ rail mounted RPG launcher is just pissing into the wind.

Either an original Henry lever-gun or a R. B. Rodda 4 Bore Hammer Double Rifle  with case and accesories .................

The DTA SRS has been on my list for years. It's mostly irrational... the rifle is a solution for a problem I don't have. But still.

Form 1 a lower I just got and build a 14.5" M4 SBR. Not a clone, but kind of Block II inspired.

M4A1 with a 14.5 p/w A2x flash hinder
Irons only with a removable carry handle
Skinny carbine handguards/heat shields
Modern streamlight mounted to the FSP

Inspired by this but with a few modern tweaks:

Probably a small frame (DPMS Gen 2 style) AR-10 with a 20" Proof carbon fiber 6.5 Creedmoor barrel (as soon as they make one for the small-frame platform).

Lightweight components all-around with a Vortex PST Gen II.

I want a bolt gun again. Probably another Remmy 700, long action this time instead of short action.

I want an browning x bolt in 308 w a Zeiss terra 4-12. Maybe a nightforce or a vortex razor if I want to get spendy.

.308 home build with 80% lower. All built just waiting on the upper money. Considering either the ProFab or possibly a PSA but am leaning to the ProFab as I'm not sure of the fitment of the PSA Upper to the DPMS style lower.

Planning on using a Primary Arms ACSS HUD DMR 4-14x44. As such, I'd welcome any input on this scope for an AR in .308

Bcm 14.5" upper
Kac urx 3 or 3.1 rail

Surefire m300c
Aimpoint t-1
Bcm lower with ctr stock

Since nearly all known FA Industry ditched the 6.8 (I've had mags for over a year) I got a 6.5 Grendel ultimate 18" kit from LaRue a few weeks ago.  Put about 150 rounds so far.  Phenomenal round in the AR15 chassis and a phenomenal product from LaRue for a phenomenal, "your dumb if you pass it up" price.

next will be a 12.5 SBR in 6.5 G.

I drank the cool aid and it tastes friken great.

(I could never understand the idea of a 300 BO other than just a barrel swap.  Wasn't worth it for me)

OP: Wolf is making a 16" 6.5 G upper in standard M4 A3 config.  100 gr wolf ammo goes for about the same price as 223 plinking ammo.  Not bad at all for truck gun that can take hogs, deer, and elk in a pinch.

Aero American Flag lower/Aero stripped upper
MBT trigger
Toolcraft BCG
UTG Pro 15" rail
MBUS Pro BUIS
either a DD or BCM 16" mid length barrel
Magpul MOE stock & grip
Steiner P4xi in the extra Burris PEPR mount I have(at least for now)
WOTG sling
undecided on light. Might just go with the same Magpul mount with a Mag Lite Mag Tac  that is on my other carbine.

Probably won't get this gun finished until the end of the year. I already have the lower but want to see if I can get the rest of the stuff on sale. Plus I need new tires on my truck and that kills the fun money budget for right now.

Accurate fighting carbine:

Faxon 16" 5R barrel
Vltor billet upper

Midwest Industries 15" M-Lok lightweight handguard
AAC flash hider
Holosun RDS
PSA forged lower
Geissele SSA trigger
MOE stock
H1 buffer
Ergo grip
Magpul single point sling

A Larue $99 kit is very tempting. An 18" Stealth barrel would be the cat's ass.

I'm going to swap out the upper receiver and rail on one of my SBRs then I just need a 300 blackout barrel to assemble a 9" pistol from my spare parts drawer. My next complete rifle will be a muzzleloader so I can get in on some white tail a little earlier this year.

Rifle:
Interested in Pistol Caliber Carbine for Steel Matches, so I am looking for a Beretta CX4 Storm.

Shotgun:

GSSF Coupon burning a hole in my pocket, G26 Gen4.

I've still got a few spare lowers. Probably a pistol. More than likely it'll be a 6.5 Creedmore bolt gun.

Probably a 9mm AR. One of the calibers I haven't done yet. Currently I have ARs in the following calibers.

22
5.56 x 10?
5.7
6.5 Creedmoor x 2
6.8 SPC II x 2
7.62x39
.300 blackout
.308

I've pretty well filled my AR thirst at this point. Still need a pre 86 transferrable though.

Either a used marlin 336 in 30-30 or a Ruger American ranch rifle in 5.56, I have had a want for a 5.56 boltgun for awhile.

I want a white recce style rifle with black accents.

UBR, 16" barrel, 15" rail.

Receivers, rail, stock all painted bright white. Small parts on the UBR, LPK, muzzle device, scope left black.
