Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Requirements for FFL

A friend told me the other day he owned several FA weapons.  He said he had a class III FFL.  He said it only costs $200 to apply and you had to pass a background check.  Surely, it must be more to it than that or nearly everyone on this site would have one.  What are the requirements?
