They did the sound track for "Sorcerer".  They never saw any of the film footage, did the music from just reading the script.  If you get a chance to watch the movie the sound tracks fits perfectly.  Amazing group of musicians.

Michael Mann was really pioneering when he was making use of Tangerine in the early 80's. "Thief" and "The Keep" both had great, pioneering sound tracks for movies.

Mann just has fine musical taste.

My favorite Tangerine Dream stuff is by far the soundtrack for Legend.

Added alot to the movie. IMHO it absolutely made the movie.

Its interesting watching the extended release of that movie, with the different score. Even though the scenes make more sense and its better fleshed out; it's score just kills it. Makes it feel like a totaly different movie. It completely loses all of it's magic.

I wish someone would rescore the extended/directors cut with the Tangerine Dream soundtrack.

The music during the opening when the Germans are riding into the town and arriving at the keep is awesome as is the music when the two German soldiers break the seal to the keep.

There a great example of how someone not only scores a movie, but adds atmosphere and mood to the visuals.

I watched so many movies in the early to mid 80's they did the music for.  They did a lot of lower budget films like "Wavelength" too.  I still watch movies they did the soundtracks to, just because of the soundtracks.

Battery died so 2 tries after I finally got to compare and holy crap I didn't know about the Disneyland version. There's nothing dark in that one at all. The original always haunted my memories and stuck with me

I really wish someone could find the whole movie before it got cut up for theatrical release.  So much feels missing from that film.  Great atmosphere and some good acting, but falls flat from the excessive editing.  Scott Glenn could have done a better job too.

One of my favorite soundtracks.

Have to give them credit, especially the movies they worked on, they made instantly recognizable music and a unique atmosphere.

Particularily fond of the "No Future (Get Off The Babysitter) track.

I actually saw them in concert in Denver sometime in the late 80's early 90's.   I have been a fan for awhile.

It's has been reported that this album combined with LSD can create an almost intergalactic kaleidoscope experience that is most memorable.

I had Rubycon and Phaedra on vinyl back in the day. Ex wife got all my albums in the divorce. I'm guessing I had 500 LPs. I used to snag the demo albums from the radio station I worked at.
